Today was a beautiful day at Stone Mountain Park until we ended the day at Dinotorium. Our 7 year old daughter FELL THROUGH A HOLE IN THE GROUND along the dinosaur path. The hole was close to the fence area where you stand to observe the dinosaur models, and read fun facts. It was large enough for her entire right leg (hip to ankle) to fall completely underground. Her leg is bruised and scratched from top to bottom. To make matters worse when we reported it, we were told another child had fallen through that same hole a week ago. Nobody thought to fix it after the first incident? A medical team came and checked my daughter. One employee wrote us a voucher for free ice cream. Another VERY KIND employee who handled our paperwork bought her a gift from the gift shop, and was very apologetic and nice to our daughter. I really appreciated her concern, and her level of care with what she had available to her. That being said, considering how much money we spent to get into the park, and the level of danger my child was put in, free ice cream just isn’t enough to rectify this situation. We are very disappointed with this experience and will not be returning to...
Read moreIt's a bit of a mixed bag. First, it's overpriced for sure. Parking + Tickets will be over $100 unless you go alone for some reason? I hope you go to other attractions to get your money's worth! (If they're not closed - which when I was there included the ropes course & the splash pad 🤦🏻♂️)
The interior dinosaur ... thing .. is terrible. Awful even? It's dark, dusty, and in disrepair. There's balls all over the place and every 5 minutes an ear shattering air compressor HISSES loudly for no apparent reason. Not great for kids under 3, but also probably way too boring for a kid over 5? Not sure why this place exists as it's not a good playground and it's also not a good educational experience either.
If you go outside and out to the edge of the dino building there's an outdoor walking trail with animatronic dinos that's pretty fun and kids will enjoy the experience. It's nothing mind blowing but it's much better than the interior...
Read moreTo visit it you have to buy tickets for all the park's attractions. $107+ for 2 adults and a child. Then spend some 15 minutes studying the brochure and the map that does NOT help you figure out where to go. Then you enter the 4-level Dinotorium building and find yourself in a VERY dusty playground with a couple of pretty good dino figures that move and make sounds. That's it. THAT'S IT!!!! It seems that there is more to see regarding the dinos that you came to see and paid a lot for, but we failed to find them. Completely dissatisfied and frustrated. Time waste... We had a pretty nice walk around and rode the train around the Stone Mountain, but NO DINOS... A couple more along the walkways, but they were also not worth the money. The park seems to be VERY POORLY managed in terms of informing visitors about what's there is to see and enjoy (and there are plenty of nice...
