I absolutely DO NOT recommend eating here. The staff was friendly, however the service is slow and the food tastes TERRIBLE. I expected the prices to be high and the food quality to be sub par given the location (within Stone Mountain Park), but I thought the pricing was not appropriate. I ordered the bbq chicken nachos, requesting the chicken and bbq sauce on one half side only since I was sharing with my picky six year old. The server placed the chicken on one side, but accidentally put the bbq sauce over the entire plate of nachos. It was an honest mistake, and I didn't want to fuss, so I accepted the meal as is. I was not surprised when my child refused to eat it, so I went back in the line and asked for a kids or side order of chips and cheese only. When I went to check out, I was charged the same for chips and cheese as I was for chips, cheese, bbq chicken, sour cream and jalapeños. I asked why the price was the same and the cashier said 'it just is, I can give you the chicken on the side of you want'. Seems...
Read moreWhat a charming experience at Base Camp Bbq. My wife and I attended the Stone Mountain Christmas celebration and stumbled on to the restaurant during our time there 5-9pm. We decided to try the baked cinnamon bread that was a very popular item there. It was amazing delicious. The bread was easy to separate into single bite sizes and the sugary cinnamon glaze was simply incredible. What a treat. The most incredible part of our experience there was meeting the manager Ms LINDA. She was extremely polite, hospitable, kind and made our entire visit memorable. For such a busy location, Ms Linda kept the place running smooth and made guests like ourselves feel welcome and appreciated. Ms Linda in my opinion is what Christmas is all about. What a kind hearted and caring person who made our entire experience at Stone Mountain one to remember. We will be back to enjoy the fresh baked cinnamon bread and warm hospitality . Be sure to ask for Ms Linda. All the best . Merry...
Read moreThis plate of food cost me $14. The food is actually decently good, besides the beans are way too sweet, and they didn’t have a lot of stuff we wanted. But I was shocked to see how little pork it came with. I get it’s a park and prices are higher, but I’ve seen places give triple this for $10. I’m a diabetic, and to walk around the park all day, I need food to keep my blood sugar up. There’s no reason an average sized young female should need two full meals to feel okay. Not only the price, but every time we go in there, the employees have been rude, not always to us but we see it happening to other customers. They can afford to give a decent amount of food…which the portion sizes seemed to be the number one thing complained about here. The other restaurants on site have not...
