I got married in July of 2019 and had quite the experience with Joseph A Banks. We ultimately decided to buy 6 suits as oppose to renting them for my 5 groomsmen and myself. Everyone was helpful and knowledgeable in selecting a suit and sizing them accordingly. We paid for our suits and were told some would come to the store and some would come to our houses.
I received mine first with the wrong tie. No big deal. Called Ron and he said bring it in to switch it out which I did. My brother was told his suit was suit was in on the 4th of July. He went in and the shirt was not the right shirt. No alterations had also been made which he was already sized for. The staff couldn't find the paperwork to get the right shirt and he had to be remeasured. A week later, they call him to come back, this time they forgot to hem his pants. Few days later, he goes back in and the sleeves on the suit are the wrong length and have to come back again.
Next groomsmen is told his suit is in. He goes in and it doesn't fit. Comes back the next week and it doesn't fit again. The jacket was too tight and he could barely move in it. On the 3rd attempt, it finally fits.
Another groomsmen and another problem. He is told his suit is done and goes to pick it up and no alterations were made. They remeasure him and tell him they will rush it. Goes back in and the pants weren't altered. Has to come back in another day. This time, they were hemmed wrong. Finally his turn out to be right.
Might I add, some of these guys paid as much as an extra $80 dollars to have alterations made which we found to be ridiculous and made multiple trips back and forth to finally get the right sizing.
I do like the suits quality and a lot of the products they offer. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly but they seem to be very disorganized at times. I called Ron when it was getting close to our wedding date and asked for assurance that two of the suits would be done. He never really accepted responsibility for any of faults and insisted nothing was wrong.
I would strongly recommend purchasing a suit from another store or just renting one and saving yourself a very large headache...
Read moreStop, hammer time! That’s the chorus that plays in my head when I wear my recently purchased jos a bank suit. Despite the fact that it is supposed to be the slimmest cut, and despite having the pants tailored to remove some of the vast looseness, the pants are still so baggy they would make MC Hammer blush.
I know I don’t have the legs of a bodybuilder or someone who cycles hundreds of miles each week, but I like to think I have more than chicken legs that can adequately fill out the parachute-iest of slim fits. This is perplexing.
Lastly, my comments above are actually in regard to the second version of a suit I originally bought in late December and picked up in mid-Jan. I wore the original about three times before a large hole ripped in the top left corner of my back right pocket. I took it back, and though they offered to and did replace it (without a hassle, I have to say), it was not without telling me I must have torn it while taking out my wallet. Keep in mind I had worn the suit about three times over the course of a month. To me, this calls into question JaB’s quality. Luckily I had bought during one of the ubiquitous sales extravaganzas that make you feel like you’re getting 90 percent off.
Nice people at the store, but quality and cut seem to be lacking, so I will buy future suits...
Read moreMy experience at the Jos A. Bank in Mt. Lebanon was absolutely horrendous . Apparently the staff were having an internal argument that erupted into profanities between the two co-workers and somehow the person doing the fitting became involved to try to mitigate the feud . During the middle of my fitting I was left standing there without the help I needed. I eventually just left . As the customer , I was not the priority the internal riff was the priority . I eventually just left without the needed alterations. Felt less than all night at my daughters wedding because I felt I didn't get the service I needed to make my suit fit as it should have. This review is directed more at the staff than Jos A. Banks at Mt. Lebanon branch. My expectations were not met, At a very important time in my daughters life felt that I was ...
