Primantis is a Pittsburgh staple and I love that they've expanded into the suburbs so you can get the famous sandwich without going deep into the city. I've been eating the popular sandwich for years and stopped by to have one when I was in town recently. It happened to me a day when they have a pizza special so we took advantage of that too. It's a great deal—something like a 3 topping pizza, salad, and a drink for $20 on Tuesdays. I was pleasantly surprised by the pizza. You could tell the ingredients were fresh and high quality. The crust was yummy. The sauce needs a little bit of work because it just tastes like tomato paste. It's not enough to make me not want to eat it but it could use a little flavor. The service was extremely slow at lunchtime. We were sitting around waiting to order, to pay, etc, and we had two little kids with us so that was frustrating as they can only sit still for so long. There was hardly anyone else in the restaurant as it was lunch on a Tuesday so that made it frustrating because it's not like anyone else was being waited on. Overall, this is a great place to visit, especially when there is a game on because the atmosphere is rowdy and super fun! Highly recommend trying this Pittsburgh famous spot when you are in the area.

Stopped in for lunch on a Monday and the place was practically empty. While were seated right away, our waitress disappeared for long periods of time so this lunch took over an hour and a half! We ordered the wings in a their second hottest sauce (the hot garlic), the terror fries and the grilled chicken spinach sandwich with a side of cole slaw. We wanted a side salad, but the upcharge was $5 which is ridiculous. While these dishes are not what this chain restaurant is known for, they have gone so far away from their roots that these dishes should stand on their own, and besides, on Monday, wing are 79 cents a piece and you can order any quantity you wish! The sandwich was good and the cole slaw featured on briny cabbage. The wings were a disappointment. I would consider the sauce to be of medium heat at best. Clearly it was their house Louisiana-style hot sauce with added butter and some garlic chunks thrown in. But this is their second hottest sauce? Really? The terror fries are served with pickled jalapenos and a drizzle of Sriracha. Again, where is the heat? So, while both are tasty, the heat level is just not there. On the other hand, they did give us more wings than the quantity we ordered.

Ordered from here last night, as family from out of state were in & wanted Primantis. Did the online order for pickup for 3 sandwiches & 2 orders of fries. Requested tomatoes & slaw on the side for the sandwiches so they wouldn't get soggy on the 10 minute drive home. Got home & neither the slaw or tomatoes were included. Because it's cruel to serve a Primantis sandwich without slaw, we called & they kindly replaced the sandwiches entirely if we drove back, since the sandwiches would have been cold by the time we drove back there for and returned home (that would be an entire 30 minutes the sandwiches sitting). The order was ready the moment we got there, which was awesome. What was not awesome was opening up the slaw container & finding the corner of a dressing-covered plastic bag (see pics). We split 2 slaw containers among the 3 sandwiches instead of calling a 3rd time. Great customer service, but poor attention to detail. I wasn't returning a 3rd time for slaw, but we shouldn't have had to go back a 2nd time.

UPDATE: Primanti's operations director sincerely apologized for this inconvenience and compensated me for it. I am very appreciative of how corporate handles issues. Thank you for resolving my issue and truly caring about customers' experiences!

I have been coming to this location since they opened and Wednesday night (12/6) was the first time my experience was terrible. I work nights and placed an order for pick up at 11:25. I was told it would be ready in 5-10 minutes. I arrived at 11:37 and had to wave for someone to come to the front to acknowledge my existence. I told this young lady my order and a couple minutes later a male came to the front to type my order into the computer. At 11:48 he said it would be, "two minutes." I did not receive my order until midnight. Another customer walked in and had the exact same experience. This customer placed his order ten minutes after I placed mine and he received his sandwich first (only two minutes before me). He also had to tell the male his order. I don't understand why both of our orders were never sent to the kitchen. This completely messed up my plans because I was planning on going to the Giant Eagle up the road to pick up food for my step-kids lunches. I was unable to do that because they closed at midnight so I had to do more driving to make it to a 24 hour grocery store and then back home when I could finally eat my sandwich. I'm highly disappointed by this service. It was a Wednesday night, there were open seats at the bar and plenty of empty tables. They really need to get their act together. Not one person apologized for the inconvenience or even acknowledged they had made a mistake. I have already contacted corporate to make them aware of this issue. Having worked various food service jobs in the past I really value good customer service because that was always what I strived for as...

I would just like to start out this review by saying I don't write a lot of reviews about my experiences at restaurants that I figured I would write about my experience tonight. Food did take quite a while, I will admit that and that's the only bad thing I can complain about, even though food did take quite a while, the hospitality made up for all of it in my opinion. Our server, Christine? Was so absolutely sweet and apologetic about how long the food was taking during a very busy dinner rush, which is something my family and I would slightly get upset about but we understood the circumstances considering it was a Friday night, she kept apologizing about the food taking a long time and she even sent a manager over just to confirm that we were doing okay and the manager she sent over, Nicole I believe? ( Pretty blonde lady) and the personalities is what made everything okay to me. Nicole was professional, sincere and the upmost accommodating which is all I needed to compliment my experience.. food did take a long time but when it did arrive to us, it was piping hot and delicious, no complaints. It was a Friday, busy night so my family and I understood the wait time, but it was the hospitality and sincerity on how apologetic our waitress and manager were on how long everything was taking, the manager offered us a discount for the wait time, but My wife and I did not want to take that offer knowing it was nobody's fault.. Long story short, this long experience could have been a lot worse than it was, but the hospitality of this establishment made up for every missing gap, and the sincerity of the wait staff and management went such a long way with my family and I, and that's why we will 100% be back. Working in the restaurant industry is rough, I commend this entire staff for keeping a smile on their face the...

Every time we visited Pittsburgh we had to go to Primanti's. It's tradition right?!? Now that we live here we figured it's no different.

The first time we went, we had a horrible experience, however the new manager James (I think) was super cordial and took care of us. What surprised me the most is that our food runner of all people was the one who stopped back to check on us and made sure everything was ok. When we expressed our concerns she was apologetic and eager to remedy our situation. If it wasn't for her professionalism and her going out of her way to assist us and demonstrating superior hospitality, I'm not sure we would have gone back any time soon. We didn't see our server much and he seemed too busy to be chatty, so at the end of the meal we had a conversation with the food runner and found out her name was Legacy. She told us she was a server and we vowed to ask for her the next time we came in.

Well, unbeknownst to me, I ended up back at Primanti's the very next evening when my Aunt called and invited us to meet her and her family for dinner. I of course asked for the sweet girl who helped us the night before. There were 6 of us and we were high maintenance always needing a drink refill, more food or something. She handled our table with the utmost ease and never missed a beat. It's SO nice to find a server on top of her game like that. She singlehandedly created a table of regulars!

Also the food was amazing! It came out fast, hot and cooked to perfection! I really enjoyed the nachos and wings! I am looking forward to all the weekly specials and happy hours in my future, not to mention games! Go Steelers!!!!

Thank you and keep up the...
