I placed an order at the drive through yesterday and it was a disaster from start to finish. In addition they somehow lost my debit card and gave me someone else’s.
I was in the second lane which then merged into the first lane right before the pickup window. As I approached they removed the cones and had me pull up staying in the second lane. The women at the window serviced and gave orders to three cars in a row that clearly placed their orders after me, and there was lots of confusion. She finally shouted to me and asked for my name then disappeared. A few minutes later she came out with the wrong order. I told her that was not what I ordered. She took it back to the window then shouted out and asked what I ordered. I replied a number 6 with an OJ. She said no what actually was it, I replied then waited. She finally came out and took my card and said she would be back with my order. When she came back with the right order she didn’t bring my card back. I asked where my card was and she said oh sorry I left it in there and started laughing. At this point I had waited so long and watched several customers get their food orders before me that placed them after me, that when she brought my card out I just threw it in my purse and left. When I went to pull my card out today, I realized she gave me someone else’s debit card, and gave mine to another customer. I called this location right away and was connected to a manager named Jordan. I asked if they could check to see if anyone had turned my card in that day? He put me on hold and when he returned he said that they were aware that someone else had my card, and that it was expressed to a coworker who happened to be a neighbor of this individual. It was a very strange interaction, and he said he would be giving me a call back as they were trying to contact the individual. When I didn’t hear back, I called Jordan to let him know that it didn’t matter if they were able to get a hold of that individual, and I had to cancel my card anyways since someone had my numbers. He said that his coworker spoke to this individual who before said they had my card, but that now they actually didn’t have the card. None of it really matched up and when I asked Jordan if there was anything he was going to do from a customer service perspective since this was a huge issue, and my visit to his location was so incredibly unpleasant, and his answer was one worded, “No.” So I hung up. Absolutely no accountability, apology, or logical communication. Will never return to...
Read more“What’s the deal with Chick-fil-A?” (Seinfeld voice)... Seriously though, why does everyone think this place is like some kind of ambrosia of the gods when it comes to fast food?
I mean it’s fine, nothing mind-blowing imo. I like to bring my kid there to watch him joyously romp in the play area. But this location in particular is insanely busy every night. It’s like you would think it’s the only place to go in a town that’s out in the middle of nowhere in like North Dakota or something. Both the drive-thru and the indoor lines are always like that of an amusement park. The thing that really doesn’t make much sense is how small the selection is too. I asked to add onion to my chicken sandwich and was told they don’t have any. Now that’s a pretty one-note menu. Not only can you basically not get anything besides a chicken sandwich, but you can’t even get anything on it that isn’t in the pictures on the menu I guess. But hey, why the hell would they bother if they’re raking in dollars hand over fist the way they are? I suppose it’s just one of several suburban American cultural phenomenons that are over my head.
One other thing I couldn’t help but take notice of was that everyone on the rather large staff was white. That just seemed a tad odd, considering the neighborhood is certainly not entirely Caucasian, and that every other fast food place in the area has a multiracial staff. I didn’t take an official statistical audit or anything, but I feel fairly confident in making this observation. It’s just a little suspect, especially when thinking about Chick-fil-A’s “politics” of the past (just google it). Coincidence?...
Read moreI have been visiting chick-fil-a locations in multiple states for more than 20 years. This is without the only one to ever provide an experience that was less than excellent. After 5 years in Pittsburgh, driving past this location multiple times each month I never stopped because it is moderately difficult to get in and out, and always busy because it is on a major road. We had some gift cards however, so my wife and I stopped in to grab some food, it was her first time eating at chick-fil-a.
It was busy, but we were greeted quickly and the cashier who took our order was very friendly. However there was a problem with our gift cards. Both cards were gifts we'd had for some time without using amounting to a total of $20.00. However the register only charged about $16.00. When we explaine dthe situation to the manager, he blew us off and stated there was nothing he could do.
I have had full meals given to me free of charge because of minor incidents such as a long wait, something wrong with order, or other simple mistakes over the years. Having a manager at the same chain shrug and do nothing, and be outright dismissive and rude was not acceptable.
I will never again return to this location, and I doubt my wife will choose to visit any chick-fil-a in the future. Avoid this place like the plague, because the manager is just too overburdened to bother with the people who keep it...
