I caught #2102 on video when she returned to service, and I was very happy to see her running again. I have always wanted to ride this railroad, but I am starting to have second thoughts. Only because the railroad has not responded to any of the emails that I have sent them, and they have not updated their website since acquiring their newest pieces of rolling stock, including the dining car amongst others. And it's kind of disappointing that they don't offer the option of renting out the train for a private event such as a wedding or a birthday party or Bar/Bat Mitzvah, you get the idea. Maybe I will ride the train when they make all of these improvements. I just wish that they would preserve some of SEPTA's iconic Silverliner IV electric multiple units because they plan on retiring them in the next 5 years. They have historical significance being the first electric multiple unit built as married pairs as well as the first to be equipped with dynamic brakes and PA systems. If they can't use them as electric multiple units, they can remove the pantographs and motors and use them as locomotive hauled coaches. But, when I called the railroad to pitch the idea, I left them a voicemail and they never called me back. In my opinion, that is...

Exceptional service, beautifully maintained car, and nostalgic charm! My friends and I enjoyed a girl's day trip to Jim Thorpe from Reading Outer Station in the beautiful parlor car. From large, old-fashioned chairs to the curtains, lightning, and fans, the parlor car amplified the vintage feeling all the way to Jim Thorpe and back! The tickets for the parlor car were $90.00 and well-worth the price for the experience and service. The ride was about two hours each way and the narration was informative and interesting. Complimentary beverages and snacks were available and there was a restroom available on the car. The ride itself was enjoyable with scenic views throughout the sojourn. I'm looking forward to enjoying this experience again and highly recommend booking...

We had a nice experience riding the Reading Blue Mountain & Northern Railroad. The ticketing process was simple and straightforward, and the staff we interacted with were friendly. The train itself was clean and the ride was enjoyable overall. A few things could be improved: the announcements made over the speaker system were hard to understand—audio was unclear, making it difficult to follow along with any information being shared. Also, the boarding and offboarding process felt disorganized and chaotic, which took away from an otherwise pleasant experience. That said, the maps and instructions provided were easy to follow, which helped. With a few adjustments, this could be a great experience for all ages.
