This place is great! I get really great prices on salon hair products, premium cat foods, and high quality products like Tide pods or Gain pods, Downey fabric softener, and Dawn dish soap, most of which seem to be available regularly. They also have a great deal of bratwurst, lunch meats, and cheeses at way better prices than retail stores. Oftentimes, they have the frozen entrees of family sized lasagnas, Encores meals (varies in variety) and other frozen foods that can be a decent but quick family meal. Other frozen foods are also available, such as hot pockets, pizzas, and lots of vegetarian stuff like the burgers and chikn' nuggets. Seafood, Spanish/Mexican, and Asian foods are usually there too. They have freash produce and meat, bread, milk, and eggs, and the canned and dry goods vary at times, but are quite extensive, cuz There's always chips and pretzels, candy, cookies, and cereal for a decent discount, as well as soups and condiments and baking goods. There's a large Adobo and spice isle with gourmet olive oils and vinegars, and so much more! They have organic food, diet foods and body building supplements, clothing, bathroom accessories, pots and pans, make up, seasonal items for gardening, camping, decorating, and other very nice discounts on perfumes and beautiful greeting cards from leanin tree. If you want a true review of this store, take it from me. I have worked here 2 years, so I've seen and heard it all. First of all, yes, we do sell VERY FEW outdated products. We only sell these products if they are very, very close to the current date (and still good to eat!). Selling these helps to reduce the amount of wasted food products in America, which is a LOT! Also, we are a BARGAIN market. We are not a traditional grocery store, so we do not always have everything you need, but we have most. The items we do offer are also a lot cheaper than the other local grocery stores. My coworkers and I are very respectful and polite to our customers. Of course, we are human, too. We give you the same respect you give us, so be kind! In response to the pandemic, we have properly been following the governor's guidelines to stop the spread of CoVid-19. We always wear facemasks, sanitize the carts after every use, clean the registers and pin pads constantly, and enforce social distancing procedures at the registers. Not only is this for the safety of the cashiers, but it is mostly for the safety of our loyal customers. Grocery stores in the Reading PA area are the worst so why should this little hole in the wall be different. It's hit or miss when finding true bargains. The help is not too bright here especially the ones working the evening shift. Check my photos of the tomatoes. They advertise to shop elsewhere to save 20 cents! Stupid people. I hate to be seen there. Stupid music too. Update 12-2017: Always check your receipt. Some items are scanned wrong and it's a waste of time trying to get a refund. Update 4-7-2019: These stores are getting real bad and run down. The cash register did not work and I walked out. The cashier complained that the register problem happened the day before. This location seem to stop carrying a certain item so I drove to Shillington. They have the item but the store is just as dumpy as the 5th Street location. Make me laugh.
