Nicely maintained with some real Bob Ross paintings and artifacts! The staff working the exhibit was really friendly and knowledgeable. The studio room where they filmed episodes was very cool with old cameras, paint and brushes. For the price, we were hoping for a little more than two rooms and a few paintings. Not many photo ops or souvenirs. Saw a billboard from our route on I-69 and thought we'd check it out, but didn't find the 25 minute drive out of the way and $15 per adult ticket worth the detour. We called in before and mentioned we were coming in from out of town, but werent given as clear of directions as I'd hope about where to buy tickets, where to park or that our tickets covered general admission to the other attractions. Bob Ross was great and the exhibit was sweet, the ticket just wasn't worth the price for us.

It was fun! I expected MORE when you hear the word museum, not a teeny tiny house with a few rooms open... But so you have it. One price gets you a tour of the whole grounds though. Just be careful and don't enter the big white house with the red shutters... They don't like it. The Ball House was pretty neat. I made sure to open every drawer and cupboard! The vintage stuff was AMAZING to see!!! Also- for us Bob Ross fans... Seeing his actual easel and brushes was a special moment. I know people like to poke fun at those of us who watched him, but damnit! I really enjoyed him and seeing his actual things used and paintings hanging on the wall was special. I made sure to touch every one!

Oh my goodness, oh my goodness! This place is absolutely amazing! This truly shows respect and love toward Bob Ross's name and honor. With original artifacts from his studio, it feels as if he still lives on there. And, it has original artwork that he painted on the show! As well as happy little plaques that explain his life and each piece of artwork! It is well-maintained and the staff is friendly and full of knowledge. They are willing to answer all your questions with full effort and always give you an overview of what there is to see. Overall, I rate this a MUST visit.. especially if you are as much of a Bob Ross fan as I!

It was much different than we expected. The Bob Ross experience has 3 rooms downstairs about Bob Ross and filmings. There were some Bob Ross paintings on the wall on the upstairs hall with a room for painting classes people can take now. Tidy, clean, and very pleasent learned staff mostly about the Ball family. Better wear good walking shoes. Because there is a lot of walking involved to see the rest - education about the Ball family, gift shop, other building with history, excreta. Some of the property grounds were not manicured very well. The total Bob Ross experience was somewhat disappointing. Maybe there should be more about Bob Ross? More beautification and less overgrown weeds along the walk trail, to the cabin, and the fairy garden areas? But the main entrance building and most of that area was well manicured. I know the Ball family was all about Bob Ross. But it is disappointing when you go to see Bob Ross and there is very little about him and more told about the Ball family. Thank goodness the young girl at the door finely remembered to give us a map! Then we at least got fresh air with our walk after the disappointing self tour at the "Bob Ross...

Since the "Bob Ross experience" is just a small building you go in, and really the review should cover all of Minnestrista - I'm reviewing that instead. I LOVE Minnetrista as a place to walk, see nature, and get exercise, and the outsides of most of the buildings are beautiful! The farmers market can be nice. As far as visiting the insides goes- and their events...WAY OVERPRICED. What you pay $20 to see (and this is what the price was a few years ago, not sure if its worse now), is worth maybe paying maybe $2-5 each at most. Recommendation? Want the Bob Ross experience- watch his old "joy of painting" shows. Spending $20+ to see 2 rooms (?) won't give you any experience, and honestly I think they are just capitalizing on the fact that it was filmed there. Watch his old shows, and take a walk around the grounds - which is free!!! Decent parking to walk there, lots of pretty flowers, love the sidewalks w colored tiles making pictures in them! Love the old bricks in other sidewalk parts. Love the old statues you'll find here and there. Love about everything about the grounds, but I don't love the organization that runs it.

My reviews are for the grounds only. I'll ad pix...

We really enjoyed this museum. It is a small house but it is also exactly where Bob Ross loved to work, and painted and filmed many seasons of his show right there. Staff were helpful and knowledgeable too. We were happy to see his paintings, which are only displayed in a few places in the country. We also visited in the summer, so my kids loved the outdoor area of the property and the koi pond, feeding all those fish! My kids (ages 5 & 9) liked seeing all of the paintings, and we took advantage of the Ball Museum/home next door, as well as the main Minnetrista building on campus. My kids loved most the areas available especially for them upstairs at the main building--most specifically Shape ‘Scape and The Robot Zoo! Overall, this was a nice afternoon and money well spent on the tickets--considering we took advantage of all areas that...
