I saw Gun N Roses at Geodis Park with my wife. It was our first time at this venue and we did a rideshare commute. When our driver approached the area, the whole area is basically a residential neighborhood with narrow and winding streets, with people parking anywhere there was open space. There was almost no walking paths or sidewalks to help navigate people until the block around the arena the arena, so be careful if you park around the housing areas. There were police helping navigate the immediate area though. The arena itself is passable at best. For a modern venue, it's disappointing they didn't put more effort to be more accessible to people with mobility issues. Some parts are stairs only. We sat in section 206 which can only be reached by stairs it seems. The seating is hard plastic with uncomfortable armrests and barely any room. I am below average height and medium build, and even I noticed how cramped it felt. For larger and taller people, this could be a miserable experience. In the concourse areas, it was a clusterF with no ushers, signage, or other assistance to ease the crowd movement. People were packed like sardines going on all directions between acts. Concession pricing is typical for corporate venues. What ticked me off was that 2 water bottles were $11 and you can't have the bottle caps since these can be thrown! What about the bottle itself, beer cups, or any other small object?!? It's not possible for people to throw those, right?!? GNR was amazing so 2 stars to them and the production team. We left before the encore, and the rideshare pickup area is awful. Police blocked off the east end of the street, so drivers can only funnel in through the west end, for whatever reason, and slow the process down. There is a fence between the arena lot and pickup location, so you have to walk all the way around to get there. The area itself is just the 3 lane street and a grassy area. There is no sidewalk! You have to walk through uneven grass or try not to get run over while walking on the street pavement. It was a mess even before the full crowd exited, so I can only imagine how chaotic it was 30 minutes later. It's disappointing how they could have built a great venue, but it's only passable at best when it just opened. Hopefully they can improve...
Read moreI attended the Green Day Saviors Tour concert. It’s a given that Green Day killed it and the sound was spot on but the venue itself leaves a lot to be desired. I will say it’s a clean and modern stadium. Can’t speak on soccer games here, but they need to get it together on hosting concerts. Very unorganized. I had pit tickets for the Green Day concert and we were allowed to line up early and were given wristbands. It turns out that pit ticket holders and regular sit floor ticket holders were all in the same line at the B gate. 10 minutes before doors opened we were notified that anyone with a non pit wristband had to separate into a new line, causing mass confusion. No one had the foresight to create separate lines for floor and pit ticket holders?! Furthermore there was only ONE set of doors used for the pit ticket holders with everyone shoving and pushing their way in, competing for the very front of the stage. This is just asking for a The Who Concert Tragedy 2.0. Security guards were also jerks on a power trip. It was a hot, high 90 degree day in Nashville and we were instructed to throw out our water before queuing, they told us that there were water fountains inside that we could refill out bottles with, despite there being two more hours before doors opened! That’s asking heat related illness! Come on!
The stadium itself is set in a residential neighborhood, so there are tight streets and only one main road (Benton Ave) to enter and exit the area. You can pre pay parking in one of the stadium’s official lots, but honestly I wouldn’t. You’ll be waiting a long time to get out after an event. You're better off walking a little ways out and parking in a smaller non affiliated lot or finding a local resident selling parking spots in their front yard. You may end up paying less too.
Great concert, but this venue, while it has great potential, needs to learn a few things from Bridgestone Arena and Nissan Stadium, on how to properly host a concert. My advice is to get here as early as you can if you’re wanting to buy merch, food and drink because I heard that process was also a...
Read moreZERO STARS!! M girlfriend paid $900 for two tickets to see her favorite muaician of all time, P!nk. She saved for months and finally splurged and bought front row seats right off the floor (Section 109, seat 17 &18). When we arrived we discovered that these seats were 2 FEET BELOW GROUND LEVEL!! We couldn’t even see the stage while standing on the ledge or on our seats. It is incredibly disappointing! There was no disclosure of this information during the ticketing process!! These seats should never be used for this kind of event! They may be good for a soccer match, but how could Geodis do this to someone. We couldn’t even see the whole show on the video screens.
Also there was a trash can 1 foot from our faces (on the other side of the railing) where people’s drinks were splashing on us every time they threw them away. It was disgusting and demeaning. And it could have been easily moved to a location not near where anyone was sitting.
We discovered that this was the only row in the entire stadium that couldn’t see the stage at all. How could you do this to people (there were about 150-200 people in this row.... thats like $7500 in ticket sales people are getting SCAMMED OUT OF)?! She is a single mom who doesn’t just have a lot of excess income to spend on things like this! It was a very very special occasion, possibly once in a lifetime opportunity, to see her favoritemusician of all time!!!
Two days later she is still sore from all the repositioning and stretching she had to do to see any part of the live show instead of just watching snippetson the video screen.
This can and should be fixed for any event like this in the future so other don't have the same experience as us.
Geodis... you could do so much better, and I hope you will make this right.
Picture is of me standing on my seat with my arms up way...
