I think the Thompson Lane Librarians do a fantastic job with limited resources serving a growing and diverse community. Why does Green Hills have such a lovely large library and Thompson lane such a tiny one? I"m sure it's a complex equation, but nonetheless, this little library is a jewel in our community. Many teens need a place to go after school and sadly librarians have to spend part of their time educating students on library etiquette, helping the under served learn how to use computers and offering entertainment, hope and education in a place that needs and deserves a much larger and better funded facility. I've ordered many books through the Nashville Library's excellent online system that have arrived at Thompson Lane, enjoyed the Tennessean and other periodicals there and witnessed the librarians doing their best to assist a diverse and and at times, challenging population. Read more2/20/25- My girl and I went in to use the computer here. We had no library card. It was easy to do by receiving a guest code and password to use on the computer. The librarian directed us to the computers and told us what we needed to do. Then we wanted to make a print of what we needed. The other librarian helped us through the whole process.
