My experience with STEP Country Swing was very positive. While on vacation in Nashville I scheduled a 2hr lesson with Rich Rossman with the goal of learning just the basics. We met in a dance studio practice room in a location that was safe and easy to find. Rich is a clear and organized instructor and I recommend him to any dancer looking to get started or would like to progress. I do East Coast and Lindy which are also lead/follow social dances but I started at square one with Country. He teaches a 3 step Nomad swing style that is great fun! During our lesson he shuffled all styles of music to show just how versatile this dance is. Because he broke it all down and led me through it I left the lesson with enough confidence to hit the dance floor. My husband sprained his ankle the day before so he couldn’t join me. As a parting gift, Rich made short videos both of the lead steps and the 3 basic steps to refer to while we practice at home. When a person is new to social dance a few private lesson can help jump start a them and get them on the dance floor faster. And that is what this is all about! Next time in Nashville I will sign up for a class or take another private...

Read moreIf you have NOOOO idea how to get started in line dancing, but have enough courage and determination to try it out, check these guys out! I was so intimidated with messing everyone up whenever I would be out in a bar, and everyone is line dancing. It looks so fun, but I have absolutely no rhythm whatsoever. I finally built up the courage to just go for it, and found these guys! My friends and I were only in town for a weekend, but the stars aligned and we were able to get a crash course in all the basics. Mike was our instructor, and he was incredibly patient and encouraging throughout the experience. Despite my horrendous start, I was able to learn some moves, and had SO. MUCH. FUN!!! If you’re willing to laugh at yourself for a couple of parts in the beginning, these guys will help make a line dancer out of you in no time! I highly recommend them for all classes, and I have enough material to practice on my own for a bit until I return. I can’t wait to see them all again for round 2!...
