My wife and I enjoy trying new and unique restaurants. Google gave me Uzbek cuisine as an option and we jumped at a new opportunity. It was my birthday dinner so we splurged. Went with server recommendations as well as some personal taste choices. We ordered the Sampler Platter appetizer, Lamb Somsa, Vinegret Salad, Pickled Platter, Lamb Shashlik Plate, Mixed Grilled Platter, Uzbek Bread, Kuza ShurpaSoup, Hot Black Tea Pot. Server recommendations were Somsa. Vingeret, Shashlik, Bread, and Mustava soup, Medovik, Kunefe, and Turkish Coffee. We normally aren't fans of beets (Vingeret) but my wife loved it and I did find it enjoyable especially when paired with the Pickled Platter. The pickling is punch you in the taste buds but that's what we enjoy in pickling anything. The Somsa was incredible, they could make it an entrée it is so tasty. Everything was so wonderful and flavorful. The bread was AWESOME. It's made in house, light and fluffy with a nice soft crunch crust. We had the coffee, Medovik, and Kunefe for dessert. Medovik cake smelled and tasted divine. Very moist and not super sweet. Melts in your mouth. The wife says it's not better than sex but it sure is close. Kunefe takes a little time to prepare, but so worth the wait. A unique and enjoyable taste experience. The coffee was an excellent pairing choice. Turkish coffee is rocket fuel for shopping afterwards, we can hear colors now. If had with dessert it doesn't need sugar added as the sweetness and coffee strength compliment each other. Everything was worth ordering. The decor is elegantly low key. A pleasant atmosphere. We arrived around 3:30PM on a Sunday. Perfect timing as it had very light traffic at the time. Service was friendly, helpful, attentive, and unobtrusive. He was excellent with keeping us informed and took outstanding effort in planning the timing of the arrival of the dishes. They have private rooms for large parties and do take reservations. A thoroughly enjoyable experience from start to finish and worth the hour and a half trip one way we had to make. This was our reason for the drive and we were not disappointed. I added pictures for your enjoyment. I definitely recommend...

If I could give more than five stars, I absolutely would. Osh Grill in Nashville, Tennessee, is truly one of a kind. Every time I come here, I’m amazed by the quality, the flavor, and the atmosphere. The interior is beautifully designed - clean, elegant, and comfortable - and the staff always looks sharp in their uniforms and greets you with genuine warmth. Service is fast, well-organized, and very professional.
Now, let’s talk about the food, the heart of this place. The national dishes are simply out of this world! Everything tastes fresh and perfectly seasoned. But the true star of the show is their signature Osh Chaihansky Pilaf. I’ve traveled across the entire United States, and this is, without exaggeration, the best pilaf I’ve ever had. Made with tender lamb, it’s always juicy, aromatic, and balanced to perfection. Every bite feels like a masterpiece - flavorful but never heavy. You could honestly eat this pilaf every day and feel great afterward.
I even had the chance to meet the chef, Bahrom Aka, an amazing person and a true professional. His passion for cooking is reflected in every dish that leaves the kitchen. I’ve been to Central Asia, including Uzbekistan back in the 1990s, and I can confidently say that this pilaf rivals - and even surpasses - the best I’ve tasted there. That’s how incredible it is.
Beyond the food, I truly appreciate the way Osh Grill treats its guests. When I dine in, they always bring the food promptly, and when I order to go, they prepare everything separately with care. Their billing system is very fair - dine-in and take-out are separated, so tips are only for the table service, which I always leave gladly. It shows their honesty and respect for customers.
In every aspect - food, service, atmosphere, and authenticity - Osh Grill sets the gold standard. If you’re anywhere near Nashville and want to experience real Central Asian cuisine at its finest, this is the place. Osh Grill is not just a restaurant - it’s an experience you’ll want to relive...
Read moreThis is one of the best restaurants we have ever been to, probably top 10 all time. The ratings are well-deserved, all the food was top-notch, a bit unique from anything else we've had. The gentleman running the front of house was super friendly and very knowledgeable about the cuisine. We were given a complementary plate of sliced pita with greek yogurt for dipping. For appetizers we ordered the chuchvara, deep fried dumplings stuffed with seasoned ground beef. They were light and airy, crunchy, and nicely seasoned. We split an order of osh, the restaurant's namesake, and also an order of traditional Uzbek bread. The bread was a fairly large, dense, donut-shaped loaf coated in white sesame seeds all around and black sesame seeds in the center. It was served warm, and the sesame seeds gave it a slightly nutty flavor. I was hesitant about the osh because I'm not a huge fan of lamb. The lamb was fall-apart tender, more like roast beef, and wasn't gamey at all like a lot of lamb can be. The rice pilaf under it had lots of little spice treasures, including specially imported Usbek burberries (yes, I had to Google those!). We finished our meal with an order of kunefe and I had a Turkish coffee. The kunefe was divine, perfect ending to the meal. You could probably split an order between 4 people but we splurged and ate it all between the 2 of us. :) A combination of soft and crunchy grated pastry, mild cheese, and a honey sauce throughout. Make sure you leave room for it... and I recommend eating it in-house because it might not stay...
