Updated: i appreciate the reply SBR, but i donât appreiciate made to feel in the wrong about selecting dresses that i LIKED over dress that would fit me. I never once looked at the sizes until entering the fitting room. I assumed they would work. Of course you can imagine how defeating is it when you canât try them on (the purpose of my visit to your boutique). I suppose it was bad luck that of the 8 dresses i pulled all of them didnât fit me. It would be hard to âsay yes to a dressâ or even find one that you like without being able to try it one first. Exactly why I wasnât able to purchase a dress from you.
I decided to wait a week after my appointment at Southern Belle Rose to post a review. I took that week to decide if the experience was a terrible as I thought it was and the answer is still yes! I walked into the boutique and was greeted by the consultant. I let her know that I had a bridal appointment at noon and she points me towards a small room packed with gowns. I would tell you her name, but unfortunately she never introduced herself or asked my name. I thought it seemed strange, but didnât think too much about it. We pulled a few dresses to try on and to my surprise nothing was larger than a size 8! For those who donât know, bridal gowns are sized much larger than they actually are, so the ones i selected were all around a size 2-4. Sadly i wasnât able to get more than 1 gown over my head! Not once did the consultant suggest an alternative! I left Southern Belle Rose in tears and begged my family to take me home. Thankfully they didnât and i was able to try on MULTIPLE dresses at another boutique and ultimately ended up designing a custom dress! Please donât waste your time at SBR unless you want to leave feeling completely defeated and terrible...
Read moreIf I had the opportunity I would give them 0 stars!! The man in the Store is EXTREMELY RUDE!! I took my daughter and her friend to shop for prom dresses, they were so excited and Southern Belle is the first store we came to. We were not greeted upon entry. I noticed but my daughter and Abi were so excited I let them go digging for gowns. Once my daughter chose a couple of dresses he went in the dressing room before her and told her to "Read The Rules" I thought to myself wow, that is your first line of communication? The man told the nice lady working there to "Size Her" (My daughter's friend) his tone was very very dry. While my daughter was trying on a dresses I decided to help Abi search for a dress. I pulled one down and gently laid it out on the couch for her to get a better look. The man walked by and said "We have rules on how our dresses are handled. I said ok, I didn't know that. I saw another dress and unzipped it. The man comes back again in a not so nice tone, "Ma'am I don't think you understand our rules." I said apparently I don't because no one barely said anything to us.
At this point I was over it. My daughter did not want to try on anymore dresses. This was very upsetting for them and me because this is their first prom and the first store we chose to come to. Customer service was absolutely HORRIBLE!! I would not recommend this place! I'm not sure if the man is the owner or not but his attitude is AWFUL! They could have very well man over 1K on prom dresses from us, but we don't spend where we are not wanted!! There are so many other bad reviews and they pretty much sound all the same. The man is RUDE!!! Check your attitude at the...
Read moreMy friend and I are on the hunt for gowns for mother of the bride/groom. We stopped in here and after introducing ourselves, let the owner/employee know what we were looking for. He looked exasperated and said they donât have many mother of bride gowns, but pointed out one row of them. No problem, of course not everyone shop will have a ton of m.o.b gowns. We let him know we actually donât have to have a traditional mother of bride gown, and would like to look at the other dresses too, for options. My friend and I started to look at size 6, 8 rack. He came to inform us that âgowns run smaller than normal clothes so we may want to look at a different sizeâ. Iâm 5,3, 127 lbs. my friend is very slim and fit. I should have left then, but told him âthank you, this isnât our first shop, and we are aware of the sizingâ. Then, I pulled out a gown to take a closer look (which is not easy as they are packed very close together and encased in plastic bags). After deciding not to try it on, I placed it right back where I pulled it from the rack. The employee/owner stepped in between me and friend and flipped the hanger around and chided me because the hanger top had flipped around. He said âit goes this way!â Strangest thing ever, so inhospitable and rude. At that point, my friend and I felt so unwelcome and dejected we left. We have been all over town and had some great experiences with literally every other boutique. Maybe he was just having a bad day, but the whole tone was incredibly rude. I would mention the employees name, but he never told me, even after we introduced ourselves. We will...
