I took my puppy whiskey into this clinic on 9/1/2024. I took him in because he pooped blood and worms, so I wanted to make sure he was OK. When we got there, we were made to wait in the car for 2 hours before someone came and did any test on him. Whiskey was still eating and drinking, so I didn't think it was anything serious. So we set there another 2 hours and waited finally I went inside and saked how much longer was it going to be the lady at the front desk said she would have someone come out and speak to us so I went back outside and waited another 30 minutes. Then I guess he was a vet tech who came out and said he tested positive for provo and he needed to be admitted, and it was going to cost around $1500, so we paid it. We were told that we would get updates on his process and we never did I would have to call then they would send me a text or call and every call or text we were told he was doing good and even at one point we were told he had and attitude so I thought he was doing good. On 9/3/2024, I called the clinic because we hadn't heard anything. I was told that the doctor was in with him and she would call me back. We finally got a call back around 6 PM. The doctor said she needed to do a blood rest to check his blood. I asked if it was still within my price range, and I was told yes, so I agreed. I asked how long it would take to find something out she said 2 hours, I didn't get a call back until 11 PM, and then I was told I took a turn for the worse. She said that they could try and save him, but it would cost me another $5000, and I was like I don't have that kind of money she said well we can euthanize him if you want. I was in sock because, like I said, he was healthy when I dropped him off, and I know how provo works. So I asked if we could come see him and say our good byes she said no because they were closing in an hour. My husband, so no, we are coming to get our puppy. Don't do anything. When we got there and they brought whiskey out he was so cold and was moving I was like what the hell happen to my puppy Noone would answer us the doctor wouldn't even come out and speak to us. We were about to leave and was told that we had to pay another $118 and I was like why the doctor said we didn't go over the $1500 that we paid she said the doctor didn't know what she was talking about of course we paid and walked out. I held my puppy all they way home, trying to figure out why my puppy was so sick. When I got home I got him a heating blanket to bring up his body temp then every 45 minutes I was giving him 20 ml of fluids I stayed up all night pumping him with fluids and keeping him warm. Whiskey started pricking up he even started moving and walking. So I took him to another vet, and she said he was severely dehydrated, so he kept him for 4 days and pumped fluids and antibiotics into him, and he is doing good. I called and spoke with the clinic and told them I think they should give me my money back or at least half because I had to pay another vet to save my puppy plus there was charges on my statement that I didn't approve of I was told someone would be contacting me and still no phone call. I feel that if I had paid them $5000 more, they would have saved my puppy, but because I couldn't pay, they wanted to euthanize him. I don't recommend any to take their pet there. This pic is whiskey after being treated by the second vet. NVC wanted to euthanize my puppy without giving him a chance....
Read moreDoctor Hanson is the biggest rock star! He has helped me through so much with my animals since i've started using this clinic.
We initially brought my grandmother's dachshund in for an assessment, because he had in anal sack surgery with another vet, that did not go well. Dr.Hansen was able to do an exploratory surgery and fix the issue at hand. Was the clinic expensive? Yes, but was the service exemplary also, yes. After a few months, the same dog woke up and wasn't able to walk, and we brought him back, and with the testing needed discovered that he had a bulging disk and needed a surgery for that as well, which doctor hansen also performed. It is so nice to have a clinic text you and send you pictures of your dog to let you know what's going on with your pet and how things are going to be handled. This little dog is happy and running around and living his best life.
This was not our normal veterinarian that we see for all of our issues. So fast forward to my eldest dog,Taco, having some issues and me noticing that I should bring him in for an exam. I brought him to our usual vet that diagnosed him with a degenerative arthritis of the spine. That's fine, dogs get old, I understand! I noticed after that that he was still not acting normal and decided to bring him back to NVC and and let doctor Hanson make an assessment. Literally, within two minutes of Dr.Hanson laying eyes on my dog, he said that he had torn his ACL in one of his legs and would need surgery. I of course schedule that for the very next day and was also sent pictures and text messages of my dog at the clinic and how things would be handled. The level of service that I have been provided for my animals has been exactly what i've been looking for the past twenty years. Taco is living his best life right now and running through all of our five acres, like he's a puppy again!
I have a female pit bull, Gracie, who did not like our previous vet, that had an issue with a red, leaking eye and Dr. Freeman was kind enough to fit her in to her busy surgery schedule to examine her eyeball. It turns out she had a stick the size of a needle lodged in her eyeball that they had to remove. She also was a very good patient for Dr. Freeman! Dr. Freeman also gave me advice about Taco having really bad allergies and needing allergy shots every single month with her knowledge and expertise i changed them into a chicken free diet, and he has not needed allergy shots in over a year.
Then came kimber... She was hit by a car with two broken legs, heartworm positive and of course fecal worm, positive. They were able to work with me on pricing and just about anything you can think of to get her cared for in the best possible way. I started fostering her January 1st after multiple surgeries and treatments. They have been a godsend in everything to deal with her. I have now adopted her and she is living out her best life!
Long story short, I have been coming to this clinic for various reasons and I have only been gifted with support and excellent care from the veterinarians and staff. All I can do is thank this entire staff for how amazing they are at what they do. I cannot congratulate this entire team more on how amazing they are at what they do and how much they care about your pets! No matter what is going on in my pet's life, this is the only clinic I will be what's...
Read moreI would have done a negative if was available. They are EXTREMELY mis leading in their total of the services. They show you a list of charges on the right side of the paper. There is no total at the bottom on the right. Our charges were listed as $150 to walk in, $57.00 for one medication, (about) $25.00 for second medication. Then I saw an amount of $242.00 which I thought was the total with tax. All amounts liking a few cents. I finally get to leave and check out. The receiptionist proudly tells me that will be a total amount of $597.00. 😵 I will dispute this amount with my credit card company, because we ended up back at our home town vet to find out that our fur baby was completely mis diagnosed. Plus the possibility that the tech made things worse by attempting to apply nose bleed medication up our dog’s nose. When she was unable to do this, she took her very long black pointed finger nail that was rounded just enough to not be a threat to her and stuck it up his nostril that was already bleeding. No glove at all. This happened on Thursday. We returned to our home on Friday. Saturday mid morning we headed to Lowes. Afraid to leave our baby we took him with us. He gets in his seat on our console of the truck. My husband starts to pick him up and one side of his seat was completely wet and drool was pouring from his mouth. It was so much it was like a seizure. We skipped Lowes and straight to the vet. Yes we are super blessed that the clinic here is open 7 days a week. Brookhollow Palestine, Texas. Vet truly believed our baby has a concussion. A very bad one. It is possible that the tech that stuck her bare finger nail up his nostril could have caused an infection on top of the issue. Now I know yall are wondering about how the concussion came about. We have a large Mastiff, a Boxer, and our little dorky. We were at family out of town and they had a mixed that weighed about 60 lbs and a new puppy that had been dropped off recently that was about 35. Our dogs the bigger ones have never been rough with our dorky. But like kids you get a group of them together, not to mention two of them being young and loving to play well anything can happen. Yes we were watching them. So the only thing we can think of is they went out the pet door and apparently got to playing where we didn’t see them and they had an accident. Our dog never showed signs afterwards of being afraid of any of the dogs. So I know it was an accident. Otherwise if he had been attacked he would have been afraid of the one that had done it. So no way would I recommend Neighborhood Emergency Vet Service in Nedderland, Texas. An un gloved hand doesnt need to be up a nostril that is bleeding. She was in and out of the exam room touching and doing who knows what. VERY...
