There comes a time when every hobbyist concludes it's time to sell their collection myself, the kids college. Whatever the reason for selling, deciding what to sell is far less challenging than who and where to sell it. Not being a person who uses googles reviews, (I tend to personally observe or use word of mouth recommendations), I found it interesting that I was so compelled to actually write a review. Having a fourth generation collection I wasn't going to randomly disperse it. I looked up "coin stores near me" and found three. I'll just say, for the first two, the vibe just wasn't right. On my first visit to Needham coin and jewelry they were quite busy. Although I was selling my items, I'm still collector at heart, and I was quite intrigued by their selection of coins. I was greeted and informed to let them know if I had any questions. I observed two parties selling. Curious about the staff I listened as the first party sold some scrap gold and a few coins. The second customer had some higher tiered items, numismatic wise. Both had been given the same courtesy, description of services and breakdown of how Needham coin and jewelry conducts their purchases. Before leaving the store, on this first visit, I introduced myself to Len & Gina with mentions of contemplating selling my collection in the near future. Two weeks later I visited the shop again and caught the end of a conversation with an apparent satisfied customer. Pleased was the customer who was encouraged to think about the offer he received and shop it around as well. The customer mentioned appreciation, not only for the standing offer, but the increase as the market change since the weekend before when he was previously in. Lens technique seemed familiar to me. Sending a customer elsewhere knowing they'd be back was a confident and terrific attribute. As they tallied up the purchase I also found it interesting as Len informed the customer certain items were worth more than melt and he would pay higher for those. Again, a recognized familiarity. Len's candor and honesty reminded me of how my father conducted business. My entire life I watch my father conduct business and for 59 and 1/2 years, he did this in the same location. My father spoke the truth, had vast knowledge and was heard, on occasion, sending customers elsewhere, knowing they'd be back. Customers and Friends remarked that my father had a genuine personality, strong ethics and gentle good humor. I find myself writing this review because Len and Gina earned it. Len and Gina earned my respect and trust. Len and Gina earned my business. I let them know I would be back soon. I found the place to work with me and my collection. The next day, with my lady, I brought in some bulk 90% coins. I had a figure written down in my pocket to see how accurate and fair Needham coin and jewelry could be. My items were within 5% of the offered amount. As I was offered cash or check I asked if they would be interested in seeing something a little rarer. I presented him my complete 1/2 cent set dating 1793 to 1857. I was equally pleased with my $350 pre 1964 sale as my set. My lady was thrilled as well. Gina walked her through a jewelry sale of a piece she saw, on display, during our previous visit. Len, Gina and the staff of Needham coins and jewelry received my highest recommendation. Not this review however, two fellow collectors I have sent to them. Both being very pleased when I said they could buy and sell with confidence. In closing anyone who worked with my father, any of his customers I still see to this day speak of him with the fondest of memories expressing there was nobody like him. With confidence Len has earned similar...
Read moreI would give 100 stars if i could!!! Needham Coin and Jewelry Buyers was suggested to me by a neighbor because they actively give you the value its worth and do not try and manipulate or take advantage! she said other shops offered an 8th that they did. So , I had to go bring the sterling silver tray i had. I walked in and immediately was pleasantly surprised by a welcoming atmosphere and the cutest little doggo named peanut. Everyone in there truly cares about their customers and is interested knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. I felt so welcome and at home there i cant describe it!! They took the time to explain how it works, how and why they value things at what they do, extra history etc. I left with $340 from a small plate and 4 coasters and felt so confident that I was valued and got what I deserved for it , but that they can still also profit. I am genuinely searching for whatever else i can find to bring back because i just love the business and the people already! the money is just a plus. WHATS EVEN COOLER!! they dont only buy gold and silver! They will buy historical documents, antique pistols, watches, antique toys and SO much more. if you have anything antique and unique or potentially valuable bring it on in!! you will love it and get more $$ than...
Read moreToday was the first time visiting here and my experience was AMAZING. I went to sell some old gold jewelry after visiting 4 other of the “Top 5 suggested Gold Buyers” on Google/Yelp within the Boston area… and thankfully I decided to visit here!
As soon as I walked in the door I was greeted by the most beautiful helpful girl who wasted no time in assisting and helping me. These people are legit the BEST!!! Not only did they give me over $300 more than the 4 other places I visited today, but they also informed me that the necklace was actually 22k gold, instead of the 18k the 4 other stores claimed it was… HONESTY and GOOD BUSINESS at its finest and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this gem for anyone looking to buy or sell jewelry, watches and/or rare authentic historical items (just like the famous show/store Pawn Stars but much better as I’ve now been to both)
Save yourself some time and effort and just go here first as they will give the best deal hands down! Thank me later 🤙🏼
Thank you Len, Gina and the beautiful young lady who made this experience awesome. They earned a loyal customer for life just after my...
