Yes park is a free park on the river and was very surprised for a free park it was clean and well kept the river was nice the spot we chose to spend the say at wasn't too deep unless continued on the nearly the other side of the river. So my daughter had plenty of space to play and it was just deep enough she could swim about with her dad and play. I sat in one of our river tubes most of the day and didn't have too many people to worry about bumping in to everyone was fairly spaced out most groups kept the areas they chose to post up at which was nice the couple people we did meet were very friendly . This park does have a restrooms building and the female side does have a shower to rinse off . There's also a covered picnic aria with a grill and a small park for children ages 5-12 only. There's plenty of room for the whole family to jump in the river tho the only down side is there's not a whole lot of parking unless u have a parking permit to park along the street further down the river. We got lucky and got a parking spot as someone pulled out and left so we got lucky and got a spot next to the picnic area and the playground and bathrooms . All in all we had a fun day playing in the river.:) definitely want to go...
Read moreGo in the mornings. Hopefully you have a parking pass 😬 I am able to walk over from my house in about 10 minutes... the perks of being a local. But this is a wonderful place to be when there's not many people around. The sun casts shadows through the tall cypress flanking the riverbank, and it feels like you're in another country. The grassy expanse in the center of the park is a favorite for dogs and families throwing a ball or a Frisbee. There really are such a variety of spaces here in this little park: river, playground, pavilion, walking trail (my favorite), picnic-friendly stretches, kayak and tube put-ins. You can easily spend most of the day here.
It does get insanely busy the later you go, especially on Summer weekends. But go in the mornings. Go on a weekday. Go in the Fall. Take a lot of pictures. You will fall in love...
Read moreI'm only giving it a 2 due to an easy spot to get into the water. There are way too many rules! We were told not to play my blues/country music too loud due to the across the river house not wanting to hear music. But... a few sites next to us, they were playing rap, and a few more down was tejano music LOUD. Our speaker was a small Bluetooth, their's was a boom box. No portable bbq grills, no tying your trash bag, purse, or tube to a tree or tree root. Even a trash tree. I can kinda understand the old cypress trees, but not an ugly trash tree (hackberry). No cussing, no drinking alcohol unless it's in the actual river and only in a yeti type cup. I get no styrofoam or bottles. No parking anywhere, and they will bug you about unloading your stuff. The restrooms are decent. We won't be...
