This was my first visit to this park. It was raining and overcast today. I was looking for the eagles that many others have captured in their photos. A nice lady named Nancy with her two cute puppies showed me where the tree with the nest was located. I didn't see any movement in the tree or around the nest. I did hear and see what may have been an eagle flying just a bit too far for my lens. It was very grey and dreary today with the rain and a bit cold, so it was difficult to see anything. I did see two geese sitting on a stone pillar under the train tracks. But even they were too far away to get a good photo with the rainy and wet weather. It was peaceful at the park, and I enjoyed seeing and hearing the train go thru on the other side of the river. I'll be back to hopefully see some eagles or any other beautiful wildlife. I liked that this park had lots of benches and seats. It was clean, and the area I walked around was flat. There was even a Porta-Potty if needed. If you are in New Brighton, take a few minutes to stop at the park and catch your breath from a busy day. Perhaps grab some lunch to take to the park and enjoy some peace and beautiful surroundings. The park has many nice places to fish as well as pavilions for gatherings and plenty of open space. The two main issues that I have are the town choosing to put in a porto-potty rather than a physical bathroom and how there is no playground for children. Really only two negatives for the park but deciding to leave those two things out really...

However, the boat deployment area is certainly rough and could use some repair, and there's honestly not all that much to do around. Walk, look at pretty trees, eat lunch. But aside from being a mile long strip of pretty land? Kinda underwhelming.
The terrain is a fairly gentle slope and there's a walking path going along a good part of it, so it's good for exercise, jogging, and walkies.
In summary: Good park,...
