Brown Bear Bread Co — Restaurant in Mount Oliver

I popped in here about a week ago and bought a few delicious items. The cinnamon rolls are sooo delicious and gigantic! They were the perfect amount of sweet and fluffy for my taste. The focaccia was great (I made a few sandwiches from mine). I had a blueberry sage spritzer and a hibiscus tea chiller. Both were very refreshing and enjoyable. I definitely recommend this place. The staff were friendly and the environment appeared clean. I was not 100% sure it was open upon first glance, but the hours were listed and you will find an open-sign (not the electric type) in the window. The bread itself is absolutely amazing and the inside is super cute! I got breakfast and weirdly they made me toast my own bread which I sadly burnt since the toaster wasn’t big enough and I had to flip it upside down (so imagine just the middle burnt). Being that the whole thing is about the bread and I paid $20 for my breakfast, it would have been nice they just toast it for you to a nice golden brown but that’s just me being picky. And the butter was too cold so it didn’t spread nicely and ended up falling on the floor when I tried to spread it. Not the best experience, but again, the flavour made up for it. Bread was great. I was able to visit Brown Bear on opening day and was absolutely blown away by the space, product quality, and customer service! I ordered the ham and swiss sandwich to go and am not surprised that the quality was 10/10, from the incredible bread down to the ham. I also snagged a cheddar scone which was MASSIVE and so reasonably priced... I devoured it. I cannot wait to visit again, and have been telling anyone who will listen to me to visit!!

Since I was there, I saw on social media that they've expanded their offerings to include French Toast Waffles and even more gorgeous pastries. 100% recommend to a friend, 100% will make the trek...
