The Scottish Rite Cathedral is truly the most wonderful, gorgeous, and stunning gem you will find in the Pittsburgh region. Best of all, the venue is incredibly affordable. We would have been able to have the wedding ceremony and reception in this stunning venue for the same price as a fire hall that really looked like a school cafeteria. I mention that because many times you will see venues advertise that they are affordable and then you see the venue rate is $10,000, but not here. When you walk into the Scottish Rite Cathedral you will be in awe of this beautiful and historical venue. In the lobby, tall columns adorn the huge room with vaulted ceiling and stained glass light fixtures. The female restroom in the lobby would be a beautiful space for the bride to get ready. We fell in love with this venue, but unfortunately we were one of the couples who had to cancel our wedding at the last minute due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Cathedral was incredible throughout the whole process and they were happy to help us however they could. We decided not to reschedule our event at the Cathedral and had a very small wedding instead. With that said, Dawn and the Scottish Rite Cathedral team were truly fantastic to work with. Dawn was incredibly kind and answered all of our questions promptly. You should 100% tour this venue, you will fall in...
Read moreAbsolutely fantastic every time I go down there I DJ and that staff goes above and beyond to take care of their vendors they make sure you got all the necessary utensils before dinner even begins sometimes we don't even get that at a venue and also I got there it was very early there was only a couple people working there and I needed some ice they pointed me to the ice machine said help yourself if you need anything else besides that we are here for you and that was really awesome because again like I said a lot of us don't even get treated like that most of the times we are invisible to a lot of venues and the wait staff. It was fantastic they really take care of you out there I would highly highly suggest if you have any parties graduations or just get together that is definitely your place they've got four different halls in there the biggest one the auditorium holds about 2,700 people the hall that I was in last night holds about 250 and then they have smaller Hall and medium sized Halls as well. Parking is a breeze there's plenty of that and if you are handicapped they have several handicap entrances to accommodate...
Read moreThis place is quite breath taking. It's amazing that it was built in the 1920s and it only took 2 years to build. The Theatre is one that should be utilised more than it does. The sound acoustics are worthy of some really Awesome shows. It's also interesting to learn the history and architecture of this one of a kind building, for this area. Retired Mohawk high school music teacher, Jim McKim, keeps this amazing building running, and is happy to take you on a tour. Stop in, check it out. If your a history buff, or an entertainment oriented type, this is a must see. (for those Ghost Hunters out there, with the original wiring still being used here.. It's an...
