Not the best beach experience. Parking is expensive, overpriced at $25 but at least that gets you the full day until 9pm. Inconvenient it is not by the hour though. It also appears there was a price hike since last year based on a photo someone added to their review a year ago that showed a sign posted parking was $15 then. That would have been much more reasonable. I met 2 other groups of people so we spent $75 together just on parking. Felt like a rip off. Was very windy. Most I've ever experienced and I've been on beaches during storms. After looking at the map some more, the location logically explains this and I wish we would have met up at another beach spot. Sand was super soft which was nice but the water had a thick line of floating seaweed a few feet in. Facilities were good and relatively clean kept. Didn't look at the shower/ changing areas. There is an aquarium, gift shop, and restaurant located right on the premises and along a nice paved walkway. It's sad they prohibit skating of all types including roller blading along the pavement walkway though because it would be a nice place just to enjoy that. Oh also, when returning from the shops to retrieve our car one entrance way was closed off by a chained gate which alarmingly gave the impression our car was trapped behind this. Luckily there was another entrance near the buildings but then we had to drive through cones placed along the parking spaces to exit. This was...
Read moreI did enjoy my time at this beach just sitting on a towel in the sand, but I had expected more. Like all the reviews say, there is a ton of red seaweed that makes the water look red and makes it impossible to see into the water. It’s not really swimmable, despite the lifeguards, due to the seaweed which also sticks to your body. Maybe I’m just squeamish but I also can’t walk out that far without any visibility- I need to see what’s in the water! For facilities, it’s nice that there’s a bathroom, lobster rolls, the aquarium area (I didn’t really check this out), and paid parking, but there weren’t any small areas to rinse sand off and, from the day I was there at least, there’s definitely no one to buy or rent beach chairs or sun umbrellas from, which was a bummer but somewhat expected. On the plus side, it is a fairly long stretch of clean beach monitored by lifeguards, so it seems like a good spot for families. There are nice shells to collect on the beach and on a clear day you can see views of the cliff walk and mansions. It’s a quick drive from downtown Newport and generally decent as long as you don’t have your heart set on fully swimming. I’m from NY and thought I knew what aggressive birds were like but wow the seagulls on the beach are actually kinda crazy. Just don’t leave food alone because they will 100% snatch it in seconds, and I would recommend just avoiding bringing food onto the...
Read moreAs a beach lover, I recently had the pleasure of visiting Easton Beach in Rhode Island, and I must say it was one of the most beautiful and enjoyable beaches I have ever been to. Easton Beach is located in the heart of Newport and offers stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean, as well as numerous recreational opportunities, such as swimming, sunbathing, and surfing.
Easton Beach has a rich history that dates back to the early 20th century. The beach was originally a popular destination for summer cottages and hotels, and it played an important role in the development of the tourism industry in Newport. Today, Easton Beach is a beloved destination for locals and visitors alike, with a vibrant boardwalk, a playground, and a concession stand.
What I find particularly impressive about Easton Beach is its stunning natural beauty and its commitment to environmental conservation. The beach is home to numerous rare and endangered plant and animal species, and the staff work tirelessly to protect and maintain the delicate ecosystem. Additionally, the beach has implemented numerous sustainable practices, such as recycling and composting, making it a great choice for visitors who want to enjoy the beauty of the beach while also minimizing their impact on the environment. As a visitor, I felt a deep sense of relaxation and rejuvenation at Easton Beach, and I can't wait to come back and enjoy its...
