There’s a lot to like about this family owned and operated inn. Of course, like many places, your experience may depend on your room’s exact location and other details. First and foremost, the hotel owners are a delight; both are very personable and honestly, make one feel very welcome. They’re also both working in the kitchen when it’s busy, and I must say, their breakfast cooking skills are outstanding! Our room and the common areas were very clean, the attention to detail is very evident. The room decor and atmosphere is crisp, fresh, and simple. Our first floor room was a bit small, but okay. Nice having a balcony, but not a very scenic view. I would think the upper floors have a nicer balcony view. But still, I enjoyed having a beer or relaxing on the balcony. Some reviewers have mentioned the busy road. Yes, it’s very busy; sometimes it took awhile to exit the parking lot. Road noise was not much of an issue for us; however, at night the traffic is significantly less so it shouldn’t be a problem for anyone. Decent size bathroom with a good size vanity; great shower and plenty of towels. The overall positive vibe reminded us of small boutique hotels in Europe. Nice having an “old fashioned” door and room key instead of a card. The AC unit in the room functioned well; bed was comfortable. While there are places nearby that are walkable, for us it’s not a pleasant walk due to to the narrow, uneven sidewalk and busy traffic. That said we could easily Uber or drive anywhere in mere minutes. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t mind staying in one of their...
Read moreWe booked based on reviews and must say, so disappointed. From the moment we checked in. The front desk was cluttered and unattended. Finally found someone to check us in. The inn def needs some updating. The room we were given was much smaller than expected an not as pictured. Our balcony and windows overlooked the parking lot. The street noise made it unenjoyable to sit on tiny patio. The bed was hard, and the pillow flat and so uncomfortable. The ac unit was wall mounted. The room above us sounded like someone was moving furniture several times. The soaps has an expired off smell that I couldn’t use . Overall, for $275 for a small queens size soon, very disappointed and would not recommend.
Note to reply - we actually checked in closer to 5 pm. We didn’t complain about room, only asked if you had another one avail after we saw how small it was.and seeing the balcony. We also couldn’t open our blinds as it would allow anyone from parking lot to see in (on 2nd floor).. It does not overlook the pond at all. You can see it to the side though and the balcony was full of spiders as well, and could not sit out. We tried but they crawled on us. Also, we tried to enjoy the outdoor fire pit, however, it is broken and has been from what we were told. Your husband was very sweet in trying to help in making it work though. You did provide 2 additional pillows which were slightly better but still a very flat foam and not comparable to the faux down pillows most hotels provide. You were kind and we appreciate that. Unfortunately, it’s just not what we...
Read moreWe enjoyed a Friday and Saturday night stay at The Sea Breeze Inn in late April, 2024. The Inn has a fabulous location, sitting up high above the busy Aquidneck Ave. so you avoid traffic noise, at least in April! |We selected this property because we would not be paying for a swimming pool or a gym. The Inn also offers you easy access to everything that is Newport, Rhode Island. In April, we were pre-season, so driving into downtown was without stress and street parking was available if you were patient. Many shops were selling their stuff at sale prices, and the popular restaurants had reasonable waits. |The Sea Breeze Inn offered us a reasonable pre-season weekend rate, which included made to order breakfasts each day with bacon, sausage or deli ham included with 2 eggs or pancakes or French toast, and the coffee was good too. The property looked to be in near new condition, with a lot of polished wood, and with the convenience of an elevator to access rooms on floors 2, 3 and 4! Best of all, and most important to us, was the management. Everybody was happy and helpful, which we appreciated. And, the windows opened, which we loved! So may Inns that we have visited in our travels have had their windows painted shut, or nailed shut. We enjoy fresh air and the Sea Breeze Inn is in a great position for enjoying just that.... sea breezes! We hope to return ...
