Cajun Spirits Distillery — Attraction in New Orleans

Don't be fooled by the industrial warehouse exterior - just walk in! When I found the distillery on Google and the cab pulled up to what seemed like an abandoned warehouse, my hubby and I had chills running down our spine and weren't sure what we were getting ourselves into - glad I trusted the 5 star reviews that others posted - truly deserved!

We were greeted by a friendly dog and Ed who's in charge of the distilling process and the owner's brother. Although there's no fancy showroom like other distilleries in the area, this humble distillery has delicious vodka, rum, and gin that goes down smooth with personalized tours.

Edward gave us an adhoc tour and patiently walked us through the distilling process of gin, rum, and vodka, we sampled quite a few batches! We even got a chance to taste the alcohol before it got fermented similar to Kombucha. The specialty Japanese Plum Whiskey was hands down my favorite! It was so good that we got a bottle of it shipped to VA along with a bottle of rum.

Ed's a chill guy and passionate about the distillery and spent 2 hours educating and hanging out with us, hearing his journey from a schoolteacher to a distiller was inspiring! We received both bottles within 2 weeks - great experience!

Absolutely our favorite place in the city. We happened upon Cajun Spirits on a staycation and Groupon adventure. The owner, Gus, is welcoming and distills the cleanest and most excellent spirits. Ann, tending bar, can whip up the best drinks you ever had. Brian, tour guide and distillery aficionado, is quite versed in the distilling process and will drop hilarious quips.
