Los Catrachos Restaurant — Restaurant in New Orleans

Absolutely terrible service. I live right across the street from this place. Tried placing an order last night through an app and the order was canceled about an hour later due to restaurant not accepting the order. Today, my boyfriend tried to place an order over the phone. Right as he was finishing, the person just hung up. Not knowing if the order was going to be done or not, he called back several times and as soon as he would start talking they would hang up. So I walked over there to place the order in person. I got the impression that these people do not want to deal with anyone that are not hispanic. Well, I'm hispanic but don't really sound it so I pretended not to know Spanish and placed my order in English. There were smirks between the workers going back and forth. Got my order and came home and noticed something was missing out my order. So I called so that it can be ready for when I got there. But once again just as with my boyfriend, they would keep hanging up on me after getting a few words out. I called 8 times with them doing this before I marched across the street. As I as getting ready to enter, I called again cause I wanted to see who it was that just kept hanging up. I went in and there was one person on the phone and 3 others hanging around them smirking as if this was some type of joke they were playing. I asked why they keep hanging up on me and showed them my phone where I had called 9 times in a row. The girl that was on the phone apologized and I told her what I was missing. She then went to the back to go get it and two remained looking at each other smirking. As the one that was on the phone gave me my missing item, I told them in Spanish that I speak spanish very well and know exactly what was happening here. On top of the bad service, the food is not that tasty. Too much aggravation for the food to not even be that good. I guess that is why they don't want to serve people not of their race. Different taste buds or they are...

I went here with a Honduran so I had a pretty tough critic with me.....but I'll let him write his own review.

The place is pretty small but comfortable and the immediate impression is that it's a nice, comfortable, clean and we'll maintained cafe.

It wasn't very busy since it was well after the lunch hour.

It's not the best neighborhood but certainly not a dangerous one either. There is a small parking lot in the rear that I expect gets pretty full during lunchtime

They provide separate menus for English and Spanish speakers although there were spots of the English menu that were still in Spanish... It seemed that the waitress had a minimal comprehension of English, at best. If we couldn't speak Spanish I think we would have had a little difficulty ordering.

The food itself was amazing and I had one of the best horchatas (a personal favorite drink that I try anywhere it is served) I have ever had!

The food was, in my opinion, overpriced.....but very tasty! The bill for 3 people having mid-range lunch items was over $50.

The real problem was the service. There were very few people there but we simply could not get service. The waitress would disappear into the kitchen and simply ignore the customers. It's a shame that a basically good, solid cafe experience was spoiled by such bad service!

The only reason I didn't give them one star is the great food. Hopefully, the bad service isn't normal for them....but it was so bad that I probably won't give them a...

I ordered a chicken baleada. They only had two very small pieces of chicken on my baleada. First they messed the order up and gave me beef. Then a very small amount of chicken and refused to refund me. Never will I come here again. Horrible customer service. Store needs to close permanently! I will definitely seek further action towards this restaurant. Also another thing was noticed, this place is overcharging sales tax. Sales tax for restaurants is 9.45% not 9.75% this place owes a lot of customers money for over...
