I've visited this place several times over the last few months. I love it! It's a great safe place to bring my dog so we can both socialize in the heat of New Orleans summer.
I read online that they require up-to-date vaccine records beforehand. Once approved by email, I visited. I checked in at the bar and they had my dog's paperwork on file. You can still go with your dog without getting pre-approved, but you won't be allowed access to the dog park, only the bar. It's $5 for a one time visit. I eventually got the annual membership.
The bar staff are great and very chill but firm with rule breakers or problem dogs (very rare). All the drinks I had were very good, and they have a nice variety (cocktails, beer, wine) and rotating specials. Haven't tried any their people food yet. There is a fun menu of dog treats you can get for your pup. There's TVs around the bar that have sports or game shows and the music on the loud speakers is always eclectic.
The dog park section is great! Fun decor and architecture! It's big enough for ~10-12 dogs and plenty of seating in the shade for their people, but small enough that you can always keep an eye on your dog. For summer, the small dog pool is full, the splash pad is always on, and there are fans and misters blowing throughout the dog park. I recently discovered the roofed portion of the park can be fully closed when it rains.
The other clientele and their dogs are nice. There's a good portion of them that are dog fosters and owners are generally good about watching their dig. So far, I've not seen any major negative interactions. Any minor fights are quickly ended with owner intervention or an airhorn. Not every dog wants to play with my dog and sometimes he has to wait for a dog to come that meshes with his play style. But he usually finds one on every visit.
I assume all chairs and tables in dog park area are covered with dog pee by the end of the night (don't wear nice clothes or shoes, ha why would you?). They hose it all down nightly though. The bar area is very clean and...
Read moreThe Dog House is an absolute treasure in New Orleans and a must-visit for dog lovers! From the moment you walk in, you’re hit with an incredible vibe that’s equal parts fun, welcoming, and dog-friendly. It’s clear this place was designed with both humans and their furry companions in mind.
The outdoor space is perfect—plenty of room for dogs to run, play, and make new friends while owners kick back and relax. The staff is fantastic: friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about creating a safe, happy environment for everyone.
And the drinks? Phenomenal! The craft beer selection is on point, and their signature cocktails are not only delicious but creative. Plus, I love the little touches, like water stations and special treats for the pups, so everyone is part of the experience.
What truly sets The Dog House apart is the sense of community. Whether you’re a regular or visiting for the first time, you’ll feel like part of the family. Their events, like “Yappy Hour” and themed parties, make it the perfect place to unwind and connect with other dog lovers.

Read moreWonderful experience! Staff is great, super duper dog friendly. Very fun for the pups and a great time for the dog parents. Even the guests were friendly. Menu very limited, just an FYI, they are updating their website which looks as if they had a larger menu, so please don’t be disappointed. Just a heads up, they ask you to register online ahead of time with proof of VAX, especially bordatella. Pups are allowed there anyway, but will not be let into the dog play pen without everything up to date. You do not necessarily have to register online first, but they will stop you and ask for proof of VAX when you walk in for the doggy play pen. For those savvy dog parents, registering ahead of time will make you look like the savviest dog parent ever. Hope this...
