Response: My first emails to you were surface emails to set up a meeting. I asked repeatedly to meet and or have a call with you to explain in detail what transpired. I was willing to let the little issues go (ie- the shape of my bouquet), but when you did not return my calls or emails for a week at a time or wouldn't respond, I listed every issue to you in an email. I thought you might like to know what happened and how I was treated. I was told what I wanted could be accomplished within my budget. I would have given more money had someone contacted me to explain I was misquoted. This doesn't matter as my final conversation with Eva was to have one LARGE arrangement and 2 candelabras with candles. So, the money I originally paid you for the three arrangements should have been more than enough for the one centerpiece. I have attached a photo so people can judge for themselves if what you gave me is considered large by any other bride's standards. I tried to handle this with you privately on a number of occasions. It did not have to be this way. It still doesn't. You have my number. Call me if you want to discuss.
I was recently married on October 20th. With more than 5 hours of face-to-face meetings, texts, emails and calls to go over every single detail of my wedding flowers and decor, The Plant Gallery Floral Manager, Eva (who took on my wedding project after their floral designer took another job at the end of September), made decisions regardless of what we discussed and agreed upon without notifying me. My large centerpieces were NOT large, they were the wrong shape, and included flowers and greenery I DID NOT APPROVE. I wanted a large amount of candles, but the amount of candles at my wedding were sparse to say the least. I was also supposed to have candles at the church per our last discussion. No candles in the church! Her email to me the week of the wedding was inappropriate and unprofessional while finalizing details because she felt inconvenienced. Who places an order for non-refundable decor without checking with the bride first? She emailed me to let me know she spent her day off getting the items (like she is the only one who works on her day off). And, I was supposed to be getting the items, not her, because TPG dropped the ball from our original conversation. Mind you, the original designer, who I loved and was working with left The Plant Gallery. No one reached out to me after she left to make sure TPG knew exactly what I wanted. At my request, I spent almost two hours on a call with Eva and one of my wedding planners re-going over the details of the wedding florals and decor. Eva told me she ordered the florals without being sure she had ordered the correct shade of red, but she said it would go great. Why was I not contacted? The red was not the correct shade. I feel Eva lacked the attention to detail and professionalism I expect from a wedding vendor. She did not respect my vision for my wedding or the time I spent going over wedding details in that specific approved florals and decor were not used. And, don’t even get me started on the smaller arrangements for the smaller tables at my reception and the flowers for the cake! Sparse is an understatement and my choices of flowers and and vases were ignored!! This review only scratches the surface of my experience. I emailed the owner, Kenny Rabalais, to explain my extreme disappointment in his company. After requesting multiple times to meet with him and/ or have a call with him, he asked me to email him again. It took me a few days to put together my email along with subsequent emails including attachments outlining my experience. The emails were sent on November 9 to Kenny as well as Eva and TPG’s accountant (who was on copy to Kenny’s email to me), and I have received no response or resolution of the matter. The customer service or lack thereof by the owner of this company is appalling. I should not have to explain my “side” of the story over and over again and prove why I have a right to be...
Read moreFirst of all I’ve been a customer of TPG since I lived on Royal St in the FQ back in the early 90’s. I shop at the store probably 3-6 times a year and consider myself a loyal customer going out of my way to shop here I live in The Parks of Plaquemines community in Belle Chasse currently I recently went to TPG to look for a fountain for a garden that I am installing in my yard Marie answered questions about the olive jar fountain I selected and I decided to make the purchase She explained that delivery and set up was included in the purchase price which made it even better since it was heavy concrete She explained they would set it up, make sure it was level and working properly I proceeded into the boutique area to pay for my fountain Clare assisted me inside Clare could not locate the item from the ticket I was given and had to radio to Marie They finally found the item but the pricing didn’t agree with what was marked on the fountain I was patient with the 20 extra minutes and shopped inside and selected some additional items to purchase totaling almost an additional $80.00 Clare then checked me out and had a delivery sheet to fill out so I was asked several questions about where the fountain was to be installed She then said there MAY be a SMALL fee since I live in Belle Chasse I asked for her to get the cost which she said she wasn’t able to contact the person that would give her the cost but she would let me know by phone About 4 days later Clare phones me and says the cost for delivery and setup would be $250.00 I was shocked considering I was told it was going to be included in the purchase by Marie and then Clare telling me it would be a minimal fee The fountain including tax was $859.17 I told Clare to refund my money and cancel the delivery as this is not what I was expecting She insisted on checking again with the delivery manager and calling me back which she did and said that was indeed the cost and she had refunded my money I told her that I wanted her to let the owner know what happened as I was extremely frustrated with this entire purchase It seemed that no one at The Plant Gallery knew or cared about this inconsistency with my purchase I was just fluffed off so I asked to speak to someone in management and she had Kayla talk to me So once again I explained first of all how terrible this experience had been and that I would not be a customer anymore Kayla then told me ALL deliveries are charged a fee I asked for her to let the owner know what happened and ended the call I am writing this so that Kenny Rabalais the owner of The Plant Gallery can be made aware of this sloppy situation This was such a bad experience that I really wanted to let him know how mishandled my purchase was I doubt I will be shopping with The Plant Gallery in the future due to this situation As a footnote I should say this fountain was selected because I am installing a memory garden in my yard to remember my brother who recently lost his battle with cancer It was a sensitive purchase and this just made the whole process even more painful for me I am just one customer but I think Mr Rabalais would want to know how a loyal customer of his...
Read moreAs a very hands-on two-time FOB, it was my distinct pleasure to work closely with Susan O’Brien, manager of The Plant Gallery (TPG) Weddings, the florist we chose for our daughter’s recent wedding and reception. Susan and TPG Weddings came highly recommended by multiple trusted sources and for good reason. Susan remained personally involved throughout the process and was generous with her time, collaboratively sharing her vast knowledge and experience. She and her team were instrumental in making our daughter’s “inspo” photos and creative vision for her dream wedding into a reality. TPG specializes in offering a more holistic visual palette, levering their floral expertise with live plant rentals and creative lighting arrangements that perfectly captured our bride’s thematic direction. Moreover, TPG was an integral part a "dream team" we had assembled of other wedding vendors of all types with a history of working cohesively together at our venue, which was a huge plus. The synergy of their combined experience produced amazing results and inspired the confidence of our family. Most importantly, they flawlessly delivered a magical evening that our daughter and new son-in-law will never forget, nor will anyone else who attended. Susan really cares about the brides that she works with and truly goes above and beyond to do whatever she can to help ensure that their weddings go smoothly, and that their floral, decorative and lighting expectations are not only met, but far exceeded. Such was the case with us. We were blown away by Susan and the TPG team’s execution on the day of the wedding. To see the myriad of design decisions we had only conceptually discussed literally “come to life” as we entered the venue for each phase of the wedding festivities – the ceremony, the interim cocktail hour and the reception itself – was simply breathtaking. We noticed all the little touches where Susan went well beyond what was expected or agreed to in our contract. She also overcame with aplomb a major set-back mere days before the wedding when she learned that the special flowers she had ordered for our daughter’s bridal and bridemaids’ bouquets were “held up in customs” and would not make it in time. (This was two days before Thanksgiving and four days before the wedding!) And yet, being the consummate professional that she is, Susan calmly and effortlessly (at least to us) rallied the troops calling on her vast network of domestic floral suppliers to find suitable alternate flowers that, quite frankly, were even better than we could have ever imagined. Trust me – choosing Susan and TPG Weddings was one of the best decisions we made and I would highly recommend that you do the same. You...
