Colden Auditorium — Attraction in New York

The Golden Auditorium is a wonderful theater to showcase world talent. The featured stars were Peabo Bryson and Regina Belle. She started the show off, but we all wondered why she was not dressed for the event? She was dressed in a casual style dress for the first act. However when she returned to do a duet with Peabo she was dressed in a beautiful sequin black pantsuit. She looked and sounded simply gorgeous. Peabo surely entertained us that night singing just about all his hit songs. He did spend a lot of time talking between sets about his personal life. Which the audience seemed receptive too. Absolutely appalling!!!! Arrived to a graduation 10 minutes before the scheduled start time. We were herded like cattle to stand behind ropes IN THE RAIN for over 25 minutes!!!!! There were parents with small infants getting wet in the rain and not allowed to even enter the lobby!! When we were finally allowed to enter the theater, there were sections that were completely empty!!!! Ken, the Theater Manager stated he was just doing his job by following directives to not allow anyone in. At some point, common sense goes beyond following directives that are clearly inhumane. Came here for a graduation. We parked nearby in free Queens college parking and the attendant was helpful in guiding us to a parking spot and towards Colden auditorium. It is a pretty large room and it is well appointed. The stage is nice also. I am not sure what it would be like to attend a concert here, but at least in terms of the graduation the acoustics worked well.
