Crotona Park has evolved into one of the better parks in the Bronx to visit, especially during the spring and summer seasons, the tennis courts have been remodeled several times since I started playing baseball there at the age of 12, into indoor beautiful courts, and speaking of baseball, I played in every baseball field there from little league till double A ball as well as some of my highschool games and the fields there have also been remodeled and are taken care of beautifully, and let's not forget about the pool, which is always a great place to visit on hot summer days!!!!! They have also put in a mini soccer field and all of the kiddie parts are well kept and are a safe place to take ur kids to have fun, I take my grandson there on a regular basis, summer winter, spring, and fall!!!! And let's not forget about the old school hip-hop parties giving props to all the Bronx artists that started it all not too far away and from all over NYC that made hip-hop world known!!!! So, do I visit CROTONA PARK IN THE BRONX, in the word of world famous hip-hop icon COOL DJ RED ALERT, YEEEEEAAAAAA!!!!! IF you haven't been there yet to any of the many events held there, I say you don't know what you're missing until you go check it out!!!!!!! ...

This park is big and has many playgrounds, some better than others. You’ll definitely want one of the playgrounds with sprinklers on the hot days but I’m not sure if here’s a map that states which ones have them. I think the nicest playgrounds are at the entrance of Corona Park East and Claremont parkway. There’s a couple of nice basketball courts throughout that never seemed to be crowded. The tennis courts and adjacent building have been updated, the pool has been rehabbed and overall the park has enough wide open spaces for family events and mini music festivals. We were there for the Fourth of July and the park was clean, grass was mostly trimmed and there were plenty of trash cans. The only bathroom is in the air controlled modern tennis building, which has stairs and a handicap ramp. It’s brightly lit and has numerous park staff offices. There’s even a small seating area in the...

I am originally from the Bronx. I remember coming to this park with my family. However I could not wander off since I was a kid. As a teenager I ventured once or twice and just remember a lot of broken benches. Now I am in the 60s and no longer live in the Bronx. All of that to say that the park looks a whole lot better than I remember it. It was just nice to sit and chat with friends and look around and see families enjoying the park, kids playing, music in the air. One fight broke out while I was there but the police came and it was over. My one complaint: it was still daylight, families were still there, but the women's bathroom (which only has one stall) was locked by 6:30 pm. Several of us were like....really? Why....we wondered? The park is still full of females. I had gone inside it earlier and there was no soap and no toilet paper. The stall doesn't even have...

I came here for oldtimers day Aug 5 2018 and the atmosphere was festive. The love and community of the people from the Bronx is amazing. No one was left hungry. Many different groups of people cooked food and shared their food with others. There were several porta pottys and they were well stocked with paper. One child fell in the lake but he was taken out. I feel that the lake treat is covered by weeds and moss is a hazard. Something needs to be done. The ampitheather is very nicely done. I was very glad that the police allowed everyone to enjoy themselves until 9pm People respectfully left the park. I took lots of random pictures and videos.

Crotona Park is a very clean and accessible park. If you love to jog or generally do some fitness exercises. There really aren't any benches but you can find a rock to sit on if you choose. My visit was a quiet and peaceful one. Just be careful crossing the street especially on Crotona Avenue between parks as I noted a few speeders due to a good stretch of road having no lights. There are 25MPH speed signs but they were ignored for the most part. Have a wonderful day folks.āœŒšŸ™‚
