Super 8 by Wyndham Bronx Near Botanical Garden — Hotel in New York

AVOID THIS PLACE Read ENTIRE review as I NEVER post reviews & travel very often.

Pay the extra to be in NYC.

This was the worst experience I’ve ever encountered (I work in Law Enforcement/Sheriff) I have never felt so out of place & unsafe.

We arrived VIA subway, once we got onto the street I immediately booked a Uber for the 3 minute drive to this hotel due to the uncertainty/safety. Arriving at the hotel main doors were wide open for anyone off the street to enter (Ghetto feels location) the lobby was like an abandoned area with only 1 Male staff who checked us in (did not see any other guests or staff at all) the welcoming feeling was not there I immediately felt even more unsafe. We took our room keys, got in elevator opened our room door, saw the window view- TERRIBLE (even more unsure and unsafe) the bathroom was dated (Not sure how-thought this spot was new?) turned around got in the elevator went to the desk said I am booking elsewhere I do not like this spot or feel safe here and the employee said “ok alright you still payin for it though” GREAT!! just get me out of here and we jumped on the subway to NYC midtown where I felt the heavy stress release my body.

TERRIBLE…. If it allowed me to put no stars that’s what I would have put.. Wyndham should be ashamed this is one of their properties and for charging someone in this case where my family felt TERRIBLY unsafe we...

I have never wrote a review on a business. I have learned it helps, so i really wanted to write a good review after my stay, during my visit to the Bronx last week. I stayed for a whole week. I really enjoyed it and will hopefully be able to stay again when i return. Very nice for a good price. I am very thankful to the ladies who cleaned my room. Wish i had got their names but i was sure to let them know i appreciate them and they had did a great job. I am a peticular person about my things, they was very respectful with my items. I like my privacy, and I was not bothered or disturb. That is greatly appreciated. Management made me feel like a guest, friendly, making sure i was good in my room and everything was alright. I would have rather had smoking room but that was not a big deal, actually helped me smoke less. Only thing i can say that would have made it even better is different toilet paper and better cable. Okay, the ice machine doesn’t work, one of the windows lock in the room doesn’t work, the bathroom lock doesn’t work, they didn’t want to move me to another room. Quite a mess. Smell of marijuana in all the hallways and even almost inside our same room during the two days I was there. The person who was working at night was very unprofessional, looking and talking to me in a bad way.
