I started at this gym at the beginning of this month. It had be tolerable until last Sunday. Before I get into that incident, let me tell you about the ones prior to it. When I was washing my hands in the women’s locker room, I turned around to see a girl behind me taking pictures of my back. While using various machines, I’ve had guys watching me, pulling their phones out and making fun of me. I took those incidents on the chin because I’m a big girl, this gym is new and people are just mean sometimes. But last Sunday was the last straw. My trainer, Charlos had me lifting heavy weights. It seemed like he was just adding weight for the hell if it. He asked if I wanted him to record me lifiting since it was a heavy amount. He had never asked me this before and he’s been my trainer since I started. I said yes because I was excited to show my mom how much I’ve been doing at the gym. As I’m lifting, a man whose picture I’ll add to this review walks behind me to watch me. I lift and drop the weight and he stares at my trainer. I didn’t immediately notice until my mom pointed the guy out to me and said he looks sketchy like my trainer and him were trying to make fun of me. I watched the video again and saw what my mom saw. It really hurt my feelings because I was starting to trust my trainer but after that I began to question everything he said to me and all of the “exercises” he made me do. I truly believe that he does not want to help me and he’s wasting my time and just taking my money. I think he and his gym bros are making fun of me behind my back. I’ve already spent over $500 on personal training lessons trying to make this year my best year. Now I’m at a crossroads about it. When I told Charlos about it and showed him the guy in the video, he said he’d handle it. Yesterday I had a session at 8p. He calls me 10mins before, a call I missed because I was already on my way to the gym. I get there and he’s not there. Instead he’s texting me about an incident that happen which I don’t believe is true. He said a woman fainting in the women’s locker room and he had to fill out an incident in order to comply with HIPAA law which is a lie. HIPAA has nothing to do with file an incident report at your workplace but I let him rock. It just shows me more about his character and how he feels about what happened to me. He told me that the guy was admiring how much weight I could lift. YEAH RIGHT…then why walk behind me into the frame of my video and make a face seemingly of judgement smh. Charlos did not work with me yesterday instead he gave me a list of workouts to do on my own and sent me on my way. He later canceled my session. I completed the tasks he assignment amongst a couple of men staring at men, people hogging machines and another guy harassing me about when I was going to be finished on a machine. I saw other trainers working with people and thought why am I being singled out? Why cant I be trained? My money is green like theirs! Is it because of my weight? My race? Do I not fit the type of person that they want to train at this gym? It’s truly disheartening and I’m not sure what to do so I’m writing this review to warn others. Thicken your skin and have your guard up…it’s brutal...
Read moreDO NOT GO HERE!!!! I'm currently trying to get my money back from these people and their treatment has been terrible. I joined the gym in Dec 2017 at the behest of friends and family. As soon as you sign up they introduce you to the personal training (To drive up sales). I decided to give it a try. Two days in I decided the personal training part wasn't for me. I told my trainer Inmarie and the personal training manager Gabriel. They convinced me that putting a pause on the training was a good idea. The rates were going to increase in the new year and with a pause I wouldn't be charged and I'd have some time to think about it. Fast forward and they have been charging me weekly to the tune of 1300 dollars!!!. Why didn't I notice sooner? When I signed up they needed bank and routing information and I only had the banking info for the bank account I use for school tuition on hand. There isn't any activity on that account so I don't have to regularly check it and I made myself clear to the staff about not being charged. As soon as I noticed I tried to call management to get this rectified and all I've been given is the run around. Manager isn't in, he is on a call etc. I've been in personally and nothing. When the manager finally called I was on hold for 15 minutes and then transferred to Gabriel who can't help me at all. I've tried to get to speak to the owner but according to Gabriel the owner does not like to be bothered by this sort of thing! I tried to call corporate and since this location is a franchise they can't do anything about it!!! Shady? YES! all of my interactions with the manager have been dismal I can safely say he doesn't respect or care for his guests. He has no skills in customer service or retention. He's rude and can't seem to handle tasks that a manager should be able to handle. Delegating a task to someone who can't do anything about the problem is not real management. I wish I looked at reviews sooner because it seems to be a pattern with these people. I joined and trusted them of the bat because DOZENS of friends and family go to this gym since they opened and I figured why not since it's close by. They have my tuition money hostage I could get kicked out. I'm currently exploring any options I have including filing a report with the city and consumer affairs. They could save everyone so much hassle if they just grew...
Read moreAttention: Mom reviewer here! This gym is not female friendly. My trainer Bianca was forced to leave because she would not comply to the vaccine mandate. That week I lost my training session and was forced to pay for it and forced to go to the next trainer that would have me. Which is a man and basically the only body builder there. My new trainer insists that my old trainer did nothing to actually train me. That makes me feel like the 400 plus in the three months I have already spent at this gym was for nothing. I’m so uncomfortable at this gym. There is no women’s fitness area and no security for women at all. Any one can walk into this place and there would be no way to stop an attack. I have since only met with the new trainer twice. Our first season he said the only way to quit was to never come back to the gym. SURPRISINGLY the only way to actually quit is to pay 60 days in advance and pay your membership fee. So it’s costing me an additional 240$ to get out of this unmerited, unfortunate contract. I was not intimidated by the contract and I actually like the facility. But this review wouldn’t have been happening had I not been contacted for billing while handling my fathers passing. I talked to someone at the ICU right after he passed. He just passed the 8/25 today is 8/28/21 and I’ve spoken to Dan every day since and have been met with 0 sympathy and spewed policy. This made the week from hell even worse and as I read this review back I feel even more taken advantage of. Go to gym that if you are made uncomfortable you can leave! Go to a gym that promotes good professional communication. Go some place that offers curtesy and is adaptable. This is not a place for moms who schedules are tight. Or for women who are concerned about there safety. Or for people who don’t like to waste money. Planet fitness may not have free weights but your free and that is priceless. They would have never treated me like this because there policies are better. I feel bad for anyone who works for a company that lacks integrity like...
