Dubos Point Wildlife Sanctuary — Attraction in New York

After driving 45 minutes, we pulled up and didn't find any walking paths. There were weeds that were mowed over, but this came up to our shins, and we decided not to walk on it as we were in shorts and slides. It's a very peaceful place and we would have liked to explore the tranquility of the preserve had we had pants and long sleeve shirts and hiking boots. This is my favorite place is Rockaway, Queens. It is so peaceful and the views are just amazing with low-tide. I am so glad we stumbled upon this Sanctuary. A great trail to walk, although it got wet at some parts, and a bit muddy. It was so cool to feel apart of nature and explore the area! The "wildlife" that finds sanctuary here are mosquitoes and whatever the micro-ecosystem is that lives in rotting horseshoe crabs.
