Spoke to my friend today. Who's like a sister to me,who is currently a patient there. She was very upset crying stating they show her no respect towards her. Then she stated they want to implant a G-tube feeding device in her. I asked her if she has problems swallowing. She stated no. I told her that is only recommended for someone who has difficulty swallowing, one can't live without food nor liquids. She been complained to me about the food making her sick. Stomach virus. Praying it wasn't food poisoning, either way, she still alive. She's stating she's depressed because her family is 2 hours drive to come to see her. She does not like it there and would like to transfer to a facility that is closer to her family, as far as the food , I told her to ask for another meal option. To speak to her social worker if there are any issues, as far as the G-tube is concerned ,that will be her choice unless they have a serious medical reason for that procedure they can't do it without her consent. I don't think they want a law suit Furthermore, She stated she lost about 20 lbs.I told her that's great. I told her it's because she's not eating, she's always been a junk eater. Thank you so far for everything you have done. We've been friends since H.S. I know she's a difficult patient. 😂🤣 I retired from Cerebral Palsy Association of NY.S. I used to administer G-tube feeding to my clients. I advised her to ask her social worker to seek a nursing home closer to her family that will accept her and to try to eat something on her plate or ask for something else. I would love to give that place a 5 star for her losing weight😛I would like to give a 5 star review when she's discharged out of there, I advised her to ask her social worker to help her seek housing. Thank you in advance. God...
Read moreIt's frustrating! This place has no common decency for the residents or family members. I invite anyone to just call the faculty... no response, if your lucky to get the operator, when they transfer your call, no response. This year has been trying for all but the fact that they have no incentive to see or speak to your love ones is unwarranted. They cancel appointments do to covid (understandable) but its been a year since I last saw my love one (not from the lack of trying). It been a year since I spoke to them just by calling in. Everything is a mess the staff from what I can tell are probably thinning and stress themselves doing everything and not getting credit ( nursing). especially to add high call volume. BUT they shouldn't have too because something should be in effect especially now. Zoom meetings, a specific location in the building just for visiting or outside when it's get warmer. At this point I would come in a bubble. It always a hot spot and the lockdown is crazy. Yet, go to the mall, a airport or even the Subway the world is still moving forward so what...
Read moreI've been staying here for rehabilitation, and all I have to say is. It's been great. From the CNA's, RN's, Porters, Food Service, and the supervisors. To the management and other Departments (Dietary, Social Workers). They treat me well and with respect.
I also want to mention the great staff and supervisor, of the rehabilitation department. Ian, Patrick, Connor, Doreen (remember Resort after Dark), John and the supervisor Mike. They been tirelessly getting me back on my feet. And all the work they had me do. Did work out in the end. Thanks Ian and Connor!
Also I want to mention. The ladies on the 4th floor, 6th floor and my final floor the 5th. The ladies must love their jobs, because of what they endure daily for patients and residents.
Would also like to add a person who brighten my nights, Andrea. She's the sweet front desk lady, who works the front desk from 3 or 4pm to 12am. She really made me feel like there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
I've also met some wonderful folks here. And they turned out to be...
