Flava II Restaurant & Lounge — Attraction in New York

A definite 0 stars! Well I know why they have Flava 2 because like the first Flava they're missing all the Flava. My sister decided she wanted to have her birthday dinner here and boy did she and all her guest regret it. First let's talk about the drinks. The drink took so long to come out we joked about going to the forest to pick the fruits. I have never experienced such bad quality in food and service ever. After over a 1 hr we had our appetizer with grease dripping Quesadillas and calamari that they said would be served with marinara (misinformation). After over another hour we recieved our entrees only for another horrible taste of flava. Mango jerk salmon with no mango or jerk flava, sweet jerk chicken that was still raw. There was burnt overcooked medium ribeye steak and okay escovitch fish. Potatoes come from a box and vegetables come with no salt or pepper on them. Someone should really be tasting the prep. The surf and turf was very lacking. As a chef I never been underwhelmed by a surf and turf. The lobster had a burnt bland taste and the steak was sent back twice. First because the medium was over done well done x 3. Like you could beat someone up with it and then I recieved a well done outside with a rare inside. I don't know how so please don't ask. Maybe they should reconsider booking reservations because for a party of 12 there was no service. Had to ask for silverware and napkins 3 or more times because each time they thought 3 or 4 would be enough (the math wasn't mathing to me either). Then with each issue that occured i had to get up and find a server. Only for one point there was no service so I had to go upstairs and find one. After waving one down she finally came downstairs confused on what was wrong. After bring up the issues she disappeares to get the bill. After 15 minutes, no bill so the birthday girl decided she has to get up and go upstairs to get water because no one has returned and the next round of cocktails hasn't come out. When the server finally returns and we discuss the sent back food and the service, she informs us that it is her 2nd day and she has to call her manager to see what she can do about it. The manager is only there Friday, Saturday and Sunday if you can catch her. Let me tell you T, YOU FAILED AS A MANAGER! They also don't know T's name but it doesn't matter because T didn't answer the phone. So what do you do call the head cashier from her date because everyone is new (why is there no manager again). Overall time in restaurant was 4 hours. As a Caribbean this place is embarrassing. It put me in such a different space of so called caribbean food, I'm not even sure how this establishment is still operational. The birthday girl was so disappointed, that she turned down a round a shots that was on Yolanda (head cashier they are lucky enough to have). I made a reservation to celebrate my birthday on 3/21 and it was the worst experience ever. Reservation was at 8pm for 15 guest, some pple canceled so I explained to the waitress that we were waiting for 4 people to arrive; 8 of us have already arrived.However the waitress stated the couldn't give us the table until the entire group arrived. We were waiting for almost 1 hr until they gave us the table. Restaurant was empty at the moment, they gave us the Menu and disappeared for a while nor even to bring a Glass of water.When we asked for some water they gave us small plastic cups and disappeared again. When the girl in charge of our table start taking the drinks order I also ordered fish cake. She brought the drinks and after 45 mins she brought what my family ordered and the realized there was no fish cake😮‍💨. I noticed my glass was cracked & I told her, she left my drink on the table & after she served other tables she remembered and changed it.Food took 1hr and a half to be served and while some were eating others were waiting for their food!! My food was salty & instead of giving us regular utensils they gave us plastic!!!!! At that point I was so annoyed for everything that was happening and felt embarrassed because pple at My table was uncomfortable. They never gave me my bottle of champagne.When the saw me crying thennn they tried to fix it by offering me shots but I said NO .They went to sing HBD but the way I was upset I didn't even want them to sing anything. Well the drinks was great.I had the passion fruit maito and a pina colada my step daughter had a rum punch. The food was good but it took over an hour to come to the table. I guess they really just wanted to stick to the happy hour menu but it’s a restaurant & lounge so the main menu should always be ready to order. I ordered from the happy hour menu the fish shrimp and chips which I though came with fish but in small print it said OR fish. So, I received only 4 shrimp with a hand full of fries , I think that portion of the menu should be amended to just combine the shrimp and fish together because 4 shrimps and a hand full of fries is over priced at $12. My step daughter ordered Lobster said it was good but the plain white rice need some gravy. My son order salmon burger which was under seasoned and no special sauce was present to enhance the flavor. The sweet potato fries was good. The music was too loud it was uncomfortable loud.The waitress did tell us our food would be a while but when we got it she kept coming to ask if we was finished like rushing us and there was no need for that because inside was practically empty. I will revisit hopefully the experience is better and not so weird...
