Forest North Funeral Chapel — Attraction in New York

When a loved one passes, it's extremely hard to know what the next steps are. The staff at Forest North Funeral Chapel were not only kind and sympathetic, but helpful in guiding me through the process. They were able to keep on top of all the details when my family and I couldn't. I cannot say enough good things about Gina, who made herself available to me and my family around the clock. These things can move so quickly, and you need to make a ton of decisions, but Gina was calm and patient and supportive while never missing a single detail. We are forever grateful to her, and all the staff. Also the day of, our funeral attendant Kevin was so kind and supportive, and was always available for any of our needs. His presence was so appreciated.

The home itself is nothing like I've ever seen. There is only one service room, and so we had complete privacy. There weren't multiple rooms and multiple gatherings...the day was set for us and our loved ones. You don't realize how impactful that is until you are in it. Everyone in the home that day was there for our sister, and no one else. It was very special. They also have a lobby area that we were able to cater. We were able to bring in sandwiches, coffees, and drinks. This way, we didn't need to stop down and leave for food. It allowed us to spend every moment we could with our family- this was something I also didn't know was needed until the day of. We were able to make a slide show, and a Spotify playlist, which played throughout the home the whole day. Overall, between the music and photos and food and complete control of the space, it felt like a special place set up just for our sister and family to say goodbye.

If there ever comes a time you need funeral arrangements, I strongly recommend Forest North Funeral Chapel. They make something dark and difficult, into something beautiful and memorable. Thank you again...

The short review: We recently lost my father-in-law and I keep saying, I never knew I would be raving about a funeral home so much! Everyone we dealt with was absolutely incredible to put it simply and made the entire planning process a breeze, which is huge when grieving.

The long review: There was so many tiny details that made everything perfect to celebrate our loved one. The beautiful obituary website they provided allowed us to customize and post arrangements, share memories, and so much more.

We were able to play my FIL’s favorite music throughout the night through the Sonos app and have control of the whole system. It really made it feel like more of a celebration than a sad funeral. We were able to setup my FIL’s favorite treats as a refreshment area with help from the team as well.

The room itself was beautiful and new and everyone kept saying, this doesn’t feel like a sad memorial, it feels bright and happy. It was VERY nice to be the only family in the building and to feel like this was our place for the day.

Gina in the office made everything so easy with the gorgeous obituary page and all the details leading up to the memorial.

Owner, Pat us feel like family and made sure we had everything we needed from the music app, valet, and everything else.

John and Beck were also a huge help.

And then, if you’re lucky enough to have or request Steve as your day of director, then you are beyond lucky. Steve was our lifeline and made everything so easy. He explained each step of the day’s events and what we needed to do, he made sure our family always had water and whatever else we needed, and was one of the kindest people we ever met.

This was our first big loss of our adult lives and I truly don’t know how we would have done this...

Just wanted to take a moment to thank Pat and Ashley for their amazing compassion and support in planning and conducting a memorable funeral for my mom. No one wants to think about funeral arrangements, especially in a time of grief. Ashley was by our side throughout the process, from the first phone call through the interment. She was attentive to our needs and wishes. No question was left unanswered. She was patient and compassionate. Ashley helped coordinate setting up a beautiful video collage of my mother's life. She handled all of the transactions which lifted a tremendous burden from us. I never felt like they were trying to sell us anything. Pat is the Funeral Director and he treats you as if you are family. Most important is knowing your loved one will be treated with respect and dignity.
