The space that encompasses the Fruit Street Sitting Area is a lovely extension of the Brooklyn Heights Promenade. There are incredible views of Lower Manhattan from this spot and there never seem to be any crowds. Definitely worth a visit!!

I think it’s funny how I’ve been on the Promenade countless times, and I just stumbled on this serene little spot recently. I was walking two dogs, and they led me here, and it was a relaxing spot to catch our breath!

Great place to relax and take in the views of the New York skyline. There are a couple of benches shaded under the trees which is perfect on a sunny day.

If you're the kind of person who likes to sit and take in the beautiful sites surrounding you, then the Fruit St.Sitting Area is just for you.I know. You're probably wondering what kind of name is that for a sitting area???The small park which connects Columbia Heights to the Brooklyn Heights Promenade was named for it's proximity to Orange,Cranberry, and Pineapple Streets, which were in turn named by neighborhood resident Lady Middagh.Prior to the nomenclatures the streets were named after aristocrats whose names Middagh felt were pretentious. She had the signs removed and replaced them with ones of her own fruity designs which the city liked and later approved of (Wikipedia). There are many tree-shaded benches here.Sit on one and take in breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline and the iconic Brooklyn Bridge. If you're into photography then you definitely will want to bring a good camera for that winning shot. The views look beautiful both in the day and at night imo,but sunset scenes here are an absolutely...
