Where to even begin ā¦. Upon arriving the lady who checked us in mentioned briefly that we would receive a $25 credit for food / drinks at the hotel bar ( per day) she worded it in a way that this is what they do for choosing to book with there hotel, However you are not allowed to use this credit after 11AM which literally makes no sense ā¦. So most of the time that credit goes to waste and is never even used . The best part of that whole deal is the way they conveniently donāt tell YOU that $25 a day credit ends up being subtracted from your incidental down payment you put down when you check in . So we were literally charged $75 plus two different kinds of tax plus a dest fee????for reasons we still do not know , making it closer too $100 .When asked to explain how any of this makes sense we were just handed a breakdown sheet of the info which was ultimately just a receipt. So the Marriott literally robbed us in the shadiest round about way like why not mention on day one that this credit is charged to your card even if it wasnāt used ??? ALSO the room itself didnāt even have BASIC amenities youād receive at ANY hotel of a much lower rating/ Cost . Not even a complimentary water bottle , no dental kits ( so make sure to buy yourself a toothbrush/ toothpaste/ mouthwash before hand , the room had a small fridge which I later learned didnāt even work so it was literally there for looks ?? The room didnāt have a safe which I thought was crazy , and the worst part was during our THREE night stay we NEVER once had someone come by to clean / replenish towels , maybe change the sheets and make our bed ?? Not a single knock on our door. Literally any basic requirements youād get at ANY other hotel you could not find here . The room ALSO had some strange issues with the AC resetting itself to 72 multiple times throughout the night , so as I was woken up from feeling uncomfortably warm I had to then get out of bed to keep turning the AC up ! Who wants to continuously get up throughout the night to try and get the room to a comfortable sleeping temperature. I think givin the cost of the hotel that I should have at the very least be in control of the thermostat in my own room . Lastly the hotel itself looks decent on the outside but once you really start Inching toward your room itās quit obvious how little management cares. everything was outdated / lack luster , torn up carpet , old creeky elevators, stains on the walls and if your lucky youāll also get a bath and shower in one because they have some sort of drain issue in the showers and the water just starts building upā¦.I really hope no one has to experience this hotel while on vacation youāre literally better off staying ANYWHERE else but here . Completely ruined mine and my bfās first experience...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy stay at the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge was truly exceptional, and the standout heroes of this remarkable experience were the extraordinary bellmenāSam, Tony, and Hakim. Their commitment to delivering impeccable service went far beyond the ordinary, creating an atmosphere of genuine warmth and welcome for me, my fellow travelers, and every guest they encountered. Their attention to detail and the personalized touch they added to every interaction left an indelible mark on our stay.
From the moment we arrived, Sam, Tony, and Hakim not only assisted with luggage but also served as knowledgeable ambassadors of the local area, offering valuable recommendations and insights. Their dedication to creating a memorable and enjoyable experience extended beyond their official duties, making them the true ambassadors of hospitality.
In addition to the outstanding bellmen, Donna and Beverly at the front desk were instrumental in ensuring a seamless check-in. Their efficiency and valuable local insights were invaluable during my business trip. The whole hotel staff, from the front desk to the housekeeping team, consistently demonstrated a commitment to excellence. Their professionalism and hospitality were evident in every aspect of the stay, creating a cohesive and positive environment.
While my room's view may not have boasted iconic landmarks (and I did know beforehand), the exceptional service provided by the bellmen, front desk team, and the entire hotel staff truly elevated the overall experience. Their consistent efforts to ensure the comfort and satisfaction of guests showcased a level of dedication that surpassed typical expectations.
The hotel's strategic location made exploring Brooklyn's landmarks convenient, and its proximity to the subway system offered easy access to the four boroughs. The diverse array of dining options surrounding the hotel added richness to the overall experience, making it an ideal choice for both business and leisure travelers.
The beds surpassed expectations, providing a rejuvenating experience after a long day of work and exploration. The hotel's commitment to guest satisfaction was evident in the attention to providing a restful night's sleep.
I want to express my sincere gratitude to the entire staff, with special recognition for the outstanding service provided by the bellmen, front desk, and the entire front desk team. Their consistent efforts to go above and beyond not only for me but for my fellow travelers and other hotel guests have truly made the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge a standout choice in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe quality of the rooms and services at this Marriott has fallen off the face of the earth. Not providing flip flops might be a norm nowadays. But not providing dental kits is the first time in my life (no toothbrush, no toothpaste). No drinking water. The tap water from bathroom smells awful. THE SERVICE IS ABYSMAL. I found stains on my bedsheet and felt itchy from the duvet. So I asked for housekeeping service to change the bed sets (around 8pm). The concierge replied that the house keepers were done for the day. Ok still understandable. The concierge then offered to give us new bedsheets and new duvet cover so that we can make the bed ourselves. We accepted the solution. However, 10 minutes later, a guy showed on the door with a piece of blanket (like a towel), saying āno we donāt have duvet or bedsheetā. I was simply too tired to argue with them - you donāt even have backup bedsheets or duvet covers stocked up in the hotel? I get that house keepers are gone for the day. But thereās no reason why the materials for housekeeping are not available. Iām not sure if itās the miscommunication between concierge and the towel delivery guy, or just Marriott staff simply donāt bother looking for what I asked and what they promised. I called for 4 coffee capsules and 1 toilet roll. 2 coffee capsules arrived and no toilet roll. I called for 1 toilet roll. None arrived. I called for 4 coffee capsules. 5 arrived. (The inconsistency or nonexistence of the quality of service is maddening!) When I called for regular coffee capsules, they asked, ādo you want regular coffee?ā I thought they didnāt catch what I said, so I answered āyes 4 coffee capsules pls.ā They asked āregular coffee?ā I still couldnāt catch the gist of their question, and repeated āyes. 4 plsā. Eventually I realized that thereās probably regular coffee and āirregularā coffee (how am I supposed to know that? Only one type of coffee ever existed in this room). The concierge went quite rude in an insinuating tone āthank you!ā and hung up before I could ask for some tissue paper. As a Marriott gold member, I asked if thereās availability for complimentary upgrade during checkin. The concierge answered without 1 second of checking or thinking, āwe are fully booked.ā So gold members, this is a Marriott that you want to avoid.
Iām a frequent traveller and have stayed in various Marriott and other chained hotels. I have never left a negative review for any hotel and this is my first one. Iāve been to an igloo in the middle of nowhere in north Finland - and even their service is better than...
