This mosaic studio is truly a hidden gem in Queens. Galit is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about mosaic. I enrolled in a beginner's course, learning the basics of glass cutting, shapes, and design. I was a little intimidated cutting the glass tiles, but slowly I gained the confidence and has a much steadier hand when using the nipper and saw. There was protective goggles and aprons, and I also got to choose the colors for the tiles I wanted to incorporate in my design. The studio itself is beautifully decorated with mosaic artworks; you can't help but feel inspired when you're there. Everyone in the class is super friendly, and you really feel like you're in a tight-knit community. Overall, I enjoyed learning more about the art of mosaic and I highly recommend this studio for beginners. It's also a great place to bring your imagination to life, and I hope to design a more personal project with the studio soon!

Galit at GHD Mosaics is a worldly and knowledgeable instructor that loves the craft of mosaics. Her small classes are tailored to teaching almost one on one, and spends as much time with you as needed. Each project is engineered to teach the process. The first mosaic is geared toward the students learning how to cut ceramic tile into different shapes using a tile popper and nippers. She instructs you on the proper use of PVA adhesive, to apply the tile to a wood substrate. She then shows you how to hand tint, mix and apply the grout. The students are also taught proper studio etiquette IE: cleaning as you go, safety and engaging us in feedback. There seems to be a loyal following of long term students that enjoy learning the process with Galit. I am on my second project and plan to continue, moving forward.

Galit and her studio are a gem! I was really encouraged by Galit's artwork itself. She's really creative and expressive with her own personal work and that made me feel quite comfortable exploring colors and different patterns. She was also really encouraging and pushed me to trust my deep love of colors and play with it in the studio. Galit creates a fun, positive environment for herself and students alike. She's a wise, caring instructor that supports you in your mosaic skill development. Be mindful of your pace. I work slower so had to take more classes than originally planned, but it was really worth it!

Galit's workshops are simply fantastic! The studio is beautiful and the atmosphere creative. Everyone works and sometimes chats with one another while a great music selection is playing in the background. It is the best way to relax after a day of work! Galit is a passionate, talented, supportive, and patient teacher and artist. She can guide any project by helping anyone finding their own creativity. The selection of tiles and tesserae is so great that every project, every color pattern, every idea can come about! I enjoy every session and think about the upcoming workshop throughout the week. Galit makes sure that after the end of the class everyone takes at least one treat she buys for her students... I sometimes find biscottis and chocolate bars in my backpack during the week and, at times, it is very much what I needed the most! Thank you Galit, for being such a thoughtful teacher! No words are sufficient to recommend GHD...

Highly recommended!! This course is perfect for beginners and those with experience. As someone brand new to creating mosaics, I wanted to learn the process of how to create pieces of art, as well as have fun creating them. That’s exactly what I got at Galit’s professional studio! Galit is a highly talented, professional, hospitable, and joyful teacher with years of experience teaching and creating diverse masterpieces. She offers the perfect balance between giving specific instruction and allowing her students to craft with autonomy which fosters confidence, skill, and inspiration. The atmosphere within the studio is absolutely beautiful: relaxing, friendly, immaculate, well-organized, and cheerful. With an amazing array of materials to choose from, you will create something you will be proud of, as well as learn how to use your mosaic skills on...
