So, after this review was posted I receive a call from Miriam at the hotel claiming she wants to compensate me. I call her back, I get transferred around, put on hold for 10 minutes, to only get to speak to the infamous Miriam. She gave the most ingenuine, scripted apology after being so rude prior to learning who was calling and why. She could not even remember WHY she called me! So how many calls do you make of these kinds that within 1 hour you forget people? After the worst apology ever, she proceeds to give me 3000 Marriott Bonvoy points. That is the price of two waters from the front desk. Disgusting Fairfield. Stay here if you just need a decent place to lay your head. But do not expect anything else but clean towels and a bed. From top to bottom of this organization, the service SUCKS!!!
Edits above* I am a usual at this hotel since 2021 and in combination with my partner, we have spent more than $5000 at this specific location. I go for leisure to get away and do staycations. But since opening the standard has become unsanitary and management has neglected every complaint anyone gives them. At this specific stay, we have photographs as proof as well, we stayed in a room that was unsanitary and almost suffocated with cigarette smoke wafting into our room. Upon coming back from seeing a movie the entire hallway smelt like cigarette smoke. I go into the room with my partner, Jonathan Espinal, to whom this reservation was under, and I fell on my buttocks to the ground because the toilet seat was completely broken. I then go to call front desk in regard to the smoke and the toilet and my phone needed to be charged, upon looking for an outlet, I see the outlet with no cover around it- a big danger of being electrocuted. I call and I complain....and the child, and I say child because it was an underaged person doing the overnight shift, told me he is sorry and he will report it to the manager and we will be compensated for the night. We go the next day to speak about the incident and check on our compensation. The manager, who is utterly unprofessional and stares at us like we are martian's and who has never been accommodating, polite and she has been that way since she was a front desk person and who had no right to be promoted.. has the audacity to listen and proceed to hand us $10 coupon's for the water down drinks they serve at the Courtyard next door. We simply handed them back to her and said we will reach out to Marriott directly. I know this is not the Marriott way as I have stayed at numerous Marriott locations including this one. I really believe as a person who has spent so much money and have respected and patronized this franchise I should be treated better. Yes I book through third party applications, but just because I do not pay full price for a room does not mean I should get the most unsanitary of rooms. I am waiting for my complaint to be answered by Marriott as I have sent all of this to...
Read moreI stayed 5 nights. Really had a great peaceful time here. This hotel was my option from the many choices I had. It just had all the amenities I needed including in-room perks and for the reviews, ratings, location and price this was a no-brainer. The place smells good is well kept, maintained, updated and stress free. Everything is as advertised! The free breakfast was key for me as I regularly maintain a healthy eating routine and the fitness center allowed me to maintain my fitness routine. Both exceeded my expectations. The gym was huge, the pictures do not do it justice; it was also comfortable and had sufficient weights and cardio available. Breakfast had a multitude of options from scrambled eggs with or without cheese to boiled eggs, Canadian ham, turkey/or pork sausages, oatmeal, wafflemakers, fruit, toast, bagels, creamcheese, butter, various cereal options, milk, coffee, tea, orange juice, fruit punch and the list goes on. My room was filled with everything I needed: free WiFi, microwave to prepare simple things, a mini fridge for my healthy food and drink options, coffee/tea maker, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, the TV had Netflix, plenty of electrical outlets, the bathroom was large, clean and updated, with a comfy shower and rain showerhead, plenty of different towel sizes, and the king size bed was comfy as were the pillows. Also the window had blackout shades, overlooked the highway and southern part of Flushing/Fresh Meadows and the room was very quiet day and night up there on the fifth floor. The one downfall was the size of my room with a king bed in it which wasn't that bad since I stayed alone in the room, but if I'd have brought a girlfriend luggage storage space would have been tight. Aside from that nothing else really to complain about except that valet was $30/night even for visitors who were staying only briefly; this was pretty steep for me but I found street parking pretty easily around the neighborhood so still not too bad. This neighborhood is also a safe one, perfect for families not to mention the highway (L.I. Expressway) is right there so you can get up and go. I'm happy with my stay and the service from the breakfast attendants, and housekeepers, who were great, very friendly. The front desk service was acceptable but I did not interact with them much as I was usually in and out and didn't need them nor did I use housekeeping to keep my room tidy. I'll definitely be back and I can't wait. I...
Read moreMy daughter and I planned a spontaneous road trip to visit her uncle in NYC. We didn't have time to reserve hotel room prior to trip but knew NYC had tons of Marriott properties so felt confident we would find vacancy immediately when we arrived. It was the first time traveling with our 6-month-old Service Dog in Training so I wasn't sure what to expect in regards to hospitality or disability discrimination. The first Fairfield hotel near JFK airport was 96% occupancy when we arrived to use business center computer to reserve room using associate family member discount. But as the long line dwindled, the hotel ended up selling out before we reached front desk when I discovered that I mistakenly reserved a different Fairfield location in Queens/Flushing Meadows instead of Queens/Jamaica so they couldn't even accommodate us if I paid the Walk-In rate without associate discount. The second hotel we tried near JFK Airport was also showing availability online but the staff didn't answer phone when I tried to call ahead to ask if it was pet-friendly and they were 100% occupancy unable to do walk-in rate. Our last resort was driving 10-miles away from family to this Fairfield Inn Queens/Flushing Meadows location near Laguardia Airport and it ended up surpassing our expectations. I was able to find on-street parking 2 blocks away so I didn't need to pay additional fee for parking garage or valet. The evening front desk woman was courteous and didn't question the purpose for my service dog or anything else. Our 4th floor room was conveniently located near West staircase making dog walks easy and I felt safe walking around the few blocks surrounding Fairfield & Courtyard. The hotel associate, Elvin, who worked at the breakfast buffet was very friendly and welcoming. He made a point to say hello to me twice when he saw me outside with dog later which directly motivated me to extend our stay versus searching for another Marriott location closer to family. The 2nd day, Elvin asked if "Lucy" would like any food after he finished serving my daughter and I but we declined offer. He asked permission to take selfie with Lucy because he had told his wife how great she was. Elvin's kindness and hospitality put any fears I had regarding travel with Service Animal at ease. The location is also convenient near Flushing Meadow Park which...
