Bagel Oasis is one of my top three favorite bagel shops. My family and I have been coming to this shop for over twenty years. They are conveniently open 24/7. This place has been a lifesaver in the past when I’ve had to order bagels during the wee hours for an event or just when I was craving it. They are located right next to the bus stop on the LIE service road. Don’t worry about the lines during the morning rush. They always have a lot of staff working behind the counter. As soon as you come in, someone will greet you and take your order. I love that they still make their bagels onsite—you’ll always be guaranteed a fresh bagel. If you’re lucky, you’ll get a bagel that literally just came out of the oven. I think in the past I’ve also tried some of the other items on their menu like their sandwiches and muffins. I’m sure they were good but this place is known for their bagels. It’s what they do best. The bagels are always delicious with a crunchy exterior and chewy middle. For $12.50 you get a free container of cream cheese with an order of a dozen bagels on Mon-Wed. What a bargain! They have other bagel specials on the menu. They offer 3 or 4 different bagels specials. This place is a must try if you’ve never had it.

The atmosphere was nice and the order was quick. Everyone in the store was friendly, has a nice little seating area where people can actually sit down and eat. Kinda like a DD vibe. Order was 3 Everything bagels w/ egg and cheese, lettuce tomato and 2 iced coffees (ordered 1, left the kids to pay and scoop so this is the result) total came to be ~$27 EBagel was extremely fresh but it was extra chewy and not crispy on the outside. It was unevenly salted, and took time to chew through. The shredded lettuce is always a win. If you look at the cross section, The cheese was folded into itself which I don’t love. From mfg perspective it was done to quickly cook the food as the the kitchen was busy. But I prefer layers to be bread, cheese, egg so your sandwich sticks together. Is this obsessive yes, but this is how I sandwich and I think it’s most people’s preferred choice I liked the place because the team was nice efficient and very quick. Maybe I should try their variety of cream cheeses and another type of bagel next time.

A neighborhood favorite, established seemingly from the beggining of (neighborhood) time recently reopened. It was closed under renovations for a while. I heard due to a kitchen fire. The grand re opening was this past weekend. Aug 30th. I heard from the neighbors. I went with two toasted everything bagels with creme cheese. After being in Montauk for a week and having the bagels out east, I needed to see how a Queens bagel compares. Pictures are of the two bagels we shared. Verdict. They are finger licking good. Literally. The bagels are fluffy and bigger than those out on the east end. Generous amount of creme cheese. No gimmicks with fancy wrapping or labeling, just a simple wrapping of parchment paper around a plump bagel filled to the bagel hole and over flowing out the sides. Washed down with an ice coffee. Glad they are back!

Bagel oasis is famous and has been in the same location since I can remember in the late 80s I haven’t been there in 25 years or more but last night early in the morning 4 AM. I was heading to Long Island and I got off at Main St exit off the LIE I was excited to go inside because they were now open 24 hours. I inspected the cream cheeses which has a variety of many different flavors, but one flavor that I could not find neither could the sales help was Maple walnut so I decided I’m just getting the classic cinnamon raisin buttered. They did not have decaffeinated coffee. I chose decaffeinated tea and a small Tropicana orange juice. The bagels are not dense. missing was the cinnamon flavor with very few raisins and very light weight. I also opted for toasted again lightly toasted I paid for my order almost 8 dollars went outside to my car. It had very little butter on it. I had to go back inside. and request butter, the bagel instead of getting an apology I got a sarcastic answer, saying, I buttered both sides, which was the furthest thing from the truth it was dry lacked a Sufficient amount, I asked for a small amount of half-and-half cream in my tea. That was also floated with way too much. It was like drinking milk. I’ll never go back...

For years I have been going to bagel oasis, but today will be the last time I step foot into that place. I have noticed that the quality of the food has been on the decline and yet still went back hoping it would improve. I ordered bagels for the holidays. When my daughter went to pick up my order, she didn’t think to check that everything was correct. Needless to say that aside from a few errors with the bagels, there were two containers of cream cheese missing. I called and was told that the cheese was in the second bag, I looked again and it was not. I was told to come back to get it. My husband did go, and when he got there, was told that they have him on video showing that he had already gotten the cream cheese. In other words, they accused me of trying to rip them off. Of course there was no video,, because we did not get the cream cheese twitch our order. I called again and spoke to the manager. I told him how disappointed I was, and he told me that they said it in a nice way. Really??? Accusing someone of stealing but saying it nicely is ok? He then told me that he had us mixed up with another customer, and told me he had apologized to my husband. Another lie. Well good bye yo bagel oasis...
