I now fully understand why this restaurant receives bad reviews. While some of the staff are exceptionally kind and friendly, there is one specific employee with an incredibly nasty and dismissive attitude toward paying customers. This cashier, an older woman in her early 50s who appears to be of mixed Amerindian/Native or Chinese heritage, was working on Monday, September 15, 2025, from 6:45 PM onward. I'm fairly certain she is well-known for the poor service based on other customer reviews. I purchased my food and, seeing no bottled water in the refrigerated case, asked her if I could buy one. She responded by looking over and saying, "Oh, there's none there?" I offered to pay on the spot and said they could give it to me when a new supply was brought up. The cashier had the audacity to tell me, "Oh, we don't have time for that right now." This lack of willingness to assist with a basic request was unacceptable and reflects poorly on the business. As a customer, I believe it is reasonable to be served properly and with respect, and this level of disrespect is completely unacceptable.
On the food ; While the buss-up shuts and oxtail curry were absolutely delicious—hats off to the person who made those!—I was incredibly disappointed with the doubles. They had no flavor, lacked color, and were so watery they fell apart. I literally had to hold them together and shoe em down to eat it. Not an enjoyable experience. They were honestly the worst doubles I have ever had. To make matters worse, the salara I purchased was moldy when I opened it up to eat today. Please check the food from your outside vendors. It is still your responsibility to ensure quality control for everything that goes out of your establishment.
Customer service and a respectful attitude are non-negotiable in the service industry. The idea that a bad attitude is acceptable because of a "West Indian" cultural stereotype needs to change. It is unacceptable and hurts your business. You MUST (NOT SHOULD) train your staff to be respectful, as your customers are the backbone of your business. Do better—your...
Read moreI have been buying from different food places over a decade. This one is the worst when it comes to customer service. Never had such a disrespectful experience anywhere in my life until i decide to step into this place. I was waiting on the line when a customer cut me off and i mentioned to my other half who was standing next to me. Long story short one of the staff a slim tall woman with glasses who was serving another customer at that time decided to talk to the customer that cut the line and make fun about the situation saying " why you cut the line miss don't you know you not suppose to do that" and started laughing with the customer like its okay with what she did. They both carried on for minutes while i was still standing in line waiting. The customer seems like an acquaintance to the staff but regardless everyone should be treated fairly and wait there turn. My better half and I ended up leaving without buying anything as i was very upset and felt very uncomfortable. For me this is disrespectful and unprofessional and those types of staff needs proper training. I will never go there again and i wudn't recommend my family and Friends either. I prefer to buy elsewhere where where i am treated fairly and with respect.
Mr. Owner thank you for the apology. However, I know what an online order is. That customer had another person with her that was picking out stuff to purchase in your restaurant. Never the less it doesn't justify your staff behavior which was completely wrong , rude and unprofessional and you need to look into that. Do the right thing because of customers you have a...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at D Roti Hut, and I must say it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that set the perfect tone for my lunch.
I started with the orange grapefruit juice, and it was nothing short of spectacular! The balance of sweetness and tanginess was refreshing and invigorating—definitely one of the best juices I’ve ever had. It was the ideal way to kick off my meal.
For my main course, I indulged in the BBQ chicken, accompanied by callaloo and macaroni pie. The BBQ chicken was cooked to perfection; it was juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. The callaloo was vibrant and well-seasoned, complementing the chicken beautifully. And the macaroni pie? Absolutely divine! It was creamy, cheesy, and baked to golden perfection, making it a delightful addition to the plate. The owner also gave me a potato salad on the house , which I must say was very delicious!!!!
I also couldn’t resist trying the roti with curry, and I’m so glad I did! The roti was soft and fluffy, just the way it should be, and the curry was rich and aromatic. Each bite was a delightful explosion of flavors that transported me straight to the Caribbean!
Overall, D Roti Hut exceeded my expectations in every way. The quality of the food, the generous portions, and the friendly service all contributed to a wonderful dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for delicious and authentic Caribbean cuisine. I can’t wait to return and try more of their...
