It's amazing because, I lived in Staten Island, I was born in 1990, And lived here in Staten Island, mostly South Shore of Staten Island, from 1990 to 2001. In 2001 I moved to New Jersey, not too far away from the Outerbridge Crossing. I then moved back to Staten Island, to Annadale, in 2012, and then back to Jersey same year and back to Staten Island in 2013. Then, from Annadale I moved to New Dorp. I lived on New Dorp Lane and Richmond Road corner. When I was a young boy living in Annadale, I was a trailblazer, an explorer, yet, surprisingly, I had NEVER heard of this location and trail. It took until AFTER I moved away from New Dorp town area in 2015 that I discovered High Rock Park. I took a date there as a romantic hike , and boy, was I pleAsed with this location. It doesn't take much hiking and climbing to get to the top, the summit of High Rock, but when you do, oh boy it is breathtaking and amazing. We went in Autumn and the view was amazing with brown green orange purple red and yellow leaves everywhere. It was straight up awe enspiring and I would suggest anyone...

First time I've been to this place, was to hike around. I did some Cafe deliveries before coming here. It'll be great to come here in the springtime but for fall season it's very cold. I started taking some photos and making sure I was aware of my surroundings. ๐Ÿ‘ I felt like I was Ill prepared to come here because I was wearing dress shoes while stepping on rocks that go through my feet. And I wore so many layers of clothing and had gloves on and the slipperiest hat that I could have on my head.๐Ÿ˜• Either way it's nice to have an experience walking around this place. ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐ŸŒ„๐Ÿ™‚ Someone from my group told me it'll be nice to camp here and I said yeah "maybe". This is a couple of miles away from The JCC. So next time if I do come here I'll be prepared and ready. If you want to climb some hills and take walks with your dog ๐Ÿ•, come here...

Change your park hours! Make sure to mention that the gate to the park closes at 5pm! My car was stuck in the parking area due to the gate closing at 5pm when online it says it closes at 1am. It's ridiculous. Taking a look at the gate , with the most tiniest letters it says the closing time 5pm. Nobodys calling to find out information about parks, they check online. So make sure to prepare people for that. It is so ridiculous. FIX HOURS INFORMATION, THAT NORMAL PEOPLE CAN SEE REAL ,CORRECT INFORMATION. IF I COULD, I WOULD PUT 0 STAR, BUT NOT FOR PARK ,BUT FOR PERSON WHO'S RESPONSIBLE FOR ONLINE INFORMATION. NEVER IN MY LIFE HAD THIS HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE IN ANY...

Took a bit to get there with the bus, especially when the driver didn't know anything about the park, but found it after a half hour of walking. Several trails to walk, you really need good hiking shoes as the trails are very rocky, and some are slippery, did not see any wildlife, there is a bird trail with a wooden walkway, beautiful lake that you can sit by or fish, some benches along the way, trees were still mostly green. Will definitely go back with better directions. Update! Went back found the main entrance, could use better signs to show the way in. Saw an eagle catch a fish, saw a bluejay, still very enjoyable.

Great urban hiking spot. This place is the reason a city kid like me developed any interests in hiking, exploring and an appreciation for nature. Local history of the area is also interesting. Lots of different well blazed trails for hiking, strolling, bird watching and running. Never too far from a road. Little lakes and seasonal streams. Good place to come with kids for a day out. Bring lots of bug spray and maybe avoid during height of summer as itโ€™s swampy and the mosquitoes are EVIL.
