What is there about the Forest Avenue Key Food that is special? Hmm...several things: 1) I am vegan and I eat broccoli daily, I love it - even more so since I heard the Bush clan doesn't like it. I also LOVE avocados. And brussel sprouts. Key Food in West Brighton has the best produce on Staten Island. Period. 2) You want something they don't have or don't have a lot of? Tell Derrick. D is one of the store managers and he will get whatever you want. I eat a lot of Tofu (vegans needs a protein source) and Derrick makes sure there is a large supply of "House Foods Tofu Cutlets" on hand at all times. This lightly browned super firm Tofu is ONLY AVAILABLE at Key Food. 3) In addition to being vegan I have Celiac Disease which means I am just insufferable when it comes to meal prep, my family throws their hands up in the air - Derrick and Key Food to the rescue. They have a number of gluten-free items including the wonderful Schär table crackers. So, Key Food has the best produce on the Island (by a mile), they have esoteric items for both vegans and gluten-free people and they are a community based grocery store on a main artery in the North Shore with a decent size parking lot. But have I forgotten anything? Yes... Key Food is a union shop - UFCW Local 1500. The only knock on KF is that they are a little pricy compared to the huge chain stores. I really don't mind - they are union, they carry esoteric items I really like and they will order anything you want. Take that Stop N Shop!!

Just a good Key Food store with whatever you might need and expect in it. Floors are clean, items are arranged, workers offering assistance without being asked to. The young lady at self-checkout saw me struggling and right away offered me what I needed. Prices are little higher than in Brooklyn, 50c here, 75c there, maybe there is a reason, I don't know. Good clean store.

The quality of vegetables and fruits are worst... they have fungus over them, this is my 3rd time, I went there and got worst fruits and vegetables. See the pics.

For a smaller grocery store they are well stocked. Not friendly anymore its young girls for cashiers. I noticed they tend to over charge like for one item ay $4. they click 2 quantity. Very bad on changing items on sale which are not change in the system. I don't think I will be going back. It's the closest one to where I live but I will rather drive a little longer. Adding to this review since I have been back a gee times. The last time I was headed towards the meats there sad a worker with an extra large metal cart. I just stood there waiting for him to finish or better yet let me pass. H err looked up saw me and kept unloading. After a minute or two I moved the cart to my left. Enough for me to pass. As I face the meats, they are to my right and the guy is behind me with his cart. I felt I had been hit on my left kidney and as zI turned I see the guy pushed the cart towards a merchandise display and says to me '",, can't you say sorry" I said no I've done nothing wrong but on the other hand you could have left me passed. He started saying something like he was really piissed and took the handled of his cart against the wall about 25 feet of where we were standing. It made a lot of mouse and you had two men employees there. He started gelling to me why you can't say you are sorry.noe had came real close to me and I said " and what you going to do" He said "you are spitting on my face" now this almost made me laugh because I was wearing a mask and he wasn't Jr then said 'come outside I will take care of you,," I said you go outside and F+, urself" I don't want to repeat what was said. Now a lady come and Ibssid the just want the store manager. ,"Joyce,,,she said.. Dhr gave me the name of the employer Ibyhink it was how, no1 sure. 5..11 well over 200lbs. Brown skin Arab accent. I was told by one of the employees he is got a short fuse and he is done other things. The store manager blamed me for not saying sorry, that made me feel more insulted and I said you were not here when he had to be held like a child man held two men because he wanted to beat me up. The tight moment to call 911 but I was in a little shock. I told this lady U given respect to get respect and he would not let me pass. I groceries there and said I will never be back to this store. Monday June 14,...

I went in for a few things..so I did not take a cart...as I walked in there was a worker who let drop a plant on the floor...he seemed to drop it in upset ..and given the times with the pandemic and staten Island upticking..I was not shocked.....I went about my business...30 mis later...I had a full basket and my back hurt..( I have a bad back and use a walking stick)...I went near the sliding doors...placed the basket on a box thinking I could run in and out because the carts and near the doors.....As I was slowly placing the heavy basket on a box..a worker said; ( in a snide ,angry tone)...I am working there... I know it is comfortable..but......I explained that I have a bad back....and I was going to get a cart...but I was lifting the basket up as as I spoke....and he just stood with an attitude...in addition..he was not near when I placed the basket down ..he came out of the back room.....while I lifted the basket..it occurred to me that as a customer..with an injury and I am over 60....He could have said..ok get the cart.....OR offer to get one for me......his attitude was snide and sarcastic....so as Iifted the basket..all these thoughts came over me..how rude the workers are generally there...( Key Food on Forest)...and how I am tired of accepting this.......so in a matter of a few seconds..I told him...in my first tongue ( Spanish)..that he did not have to have an attitude..and why not offer to help...seeing I have a walking stick and explained my back hurts.( I felt my back was going out).....I asked for a manager and the manager was right beside him...they both spoke in Spanish and the rude one was arguing with the manager....and it seemed to me the they are related because the level of comfort..he was yelling at the manager and me..a very uneducated And..low and behold.. the same man.. that dropped the plant on the floor in anger....when I first came in..I will not shop there again..and there covid protocol is poor..I walk a mile to get there....I do not drive and...

I wish if there is an option to give them Zero star. I have a situation in this store never had it before in any other store in my life. I was one of the regular customers of Key Food at 450 Forest Ave but last week I decided to stop shopping there and I advise everyone to stop shopping there for their safety. two days ago, I have an incident with one of the cashiers who didn't care about social distances and treated me in a very disrespect way.

In 7/21/2020 at the time of 5 pm with Cashier: JELYXZA M. as the name shown on the receipt, As usual me and my family was following safety precautions standing behind the protective plastic shield waiting cashier to scan my items and pack it in bags but cashier didn’t care about safety protocols and social distances and in a very disrespect way she asked me to step forward to help her packing my stuff . I was shocked from her attitude because this is my first time in my life to have this such situation and I was the only customer with her at that time. First, I ignore her attitude but she insisted to repeat same request for another 2 times in a very disrespect way in front of family and she pointed to the plastic bags asking me to putt my stuff in very aggressive rude way. Because I was surprised and shocked from this situation and because I didn’t want to involve in mad argument in front of my family, I kept silent and I put my stuff in plastic bags and left. The more worth thing I give written Complaint to store Supervisor and write complaint on store website but I never hear back from them. they doesn't care about their...
