I haven’t been at the Kings Arms Diner in many years, but, as we were coming from an appointment nearby, we figured yes let’s have breakfast. While the service was nice…..well, that’s the best I have to say. Our order was basic: a yogurt parfait and an egg on a roll with Canadian bacon. We also saw they had cappuccino on the menu, so we went with that too. It came to us promptly, in a plastic cup very hot and enough sweetness to go into a diabetic coma. Looking over, I saw it was the cappuccino maker you’d find in a 7-11, hence the overbearing sweetness and chemical taste. My parfait came in a plastic ice cream sundae cup and the taste bore no resemblance to any yogurt I ever tasted. I asked my husband how his sandwich was, : terrible, he said… not so much for the egg and bacon but for the tasteless spongy roll, the typical commercial rolls that come pre-packaged. Our waiter checked to see if everything was okay…. “ Fine” we said, because that’s what you do. Hahahaha, and after all, it’s not something he could fix. I know this place is a Staten Island landmark, but some things should be left in the past. ( btw it ran...
Read moreI had seriously the worst experience here n Christmas Eve. First the waitress was so inattentive, then I was given the wrong order and instead of re making it they gave it to another table.... meanwhile it sat in front of me. Then my roast beef panini was freezing cold as if it was just taken out the fridge not cooked, when I asked for it to be re made they gave me such a hassle, they acted as if I was an idiot and didn't know the difference between a sandwhich and panini. I was yelled at by the Mangaer about the matter as if I didn't know the difference. "There's a different between a sandwich and a panini" as if the menu didn't say panini. It was such horrible service. They only good part was they took that part of my mean off the bill. When I went to go pay I wasn't even acknowledged, I honestly should've walked out without paying. One of my daughters Belgian waffles was under cooked and doughy. It...
Read moreFor the most part, it’s OK. I went there today for breakfast and I sat at the counter. I wanted a glass of ice water and I noticed that the two waitresses kept putting the juice containers for orange juice and apple juice into the ice machine where they keep the ice to fill glasses. They were using it as their ice bucket, which is pretty gross because the bottom of the juice bottles have been on the counters in the refrigerator in stores, and God only knows where else these two women know better because they’ve been working there for years and have been around during many board of health inspections and they know nothing is supposed to be inside the ice machine not even the scooper that was pretty gross and that turned me off. I can just imagine what else is going on that you can’t see from out front if they’re cutting...
