What's to say? I live close to the location and enjoy taking strolls there. Despite being a resident in the area for almost 30 years, I've only visited the Poe cottage a couple months back and that was by chance. I was taking a walk with a family member one dreary Thursday, saw the gate to the house open, and decided to take pictures on the porch since we're huge Poe fans. The tour guide must've noticed us from inside and offered a chance to experience it for just five bucks each. And it was well worth the price. The opportunity refreshed some details of Poe's past I had already known but floored me with the those I hadn't known. The guide was quite informative and his enthusiasm wasn't over the top. He seems like a pretty mellow guy who loves his job. I look forward to bringing others on the tour in the future. Honestly, the tour added more pride as an Edgar Allan Poe fan and as a Bronxite from...

Sept 4, 2024. I have called 311 and the councilman Oswald Felix , which I have not recieved a response to about the heavy traffic of drug use in this park in past recent months. There are needles left in grass, caps you see all around and light post that have been out for months. Channel 12 news was also recently in the park for all the high volume of calls about the problem in this location. As of yet nothing has been done. Children should be supervised being there's potential danger with needles bring left and the darkness of the park at night since there's 8 light posts out and people that go there to use drugs or other intentions. Please keep calling 311 and Oswaldo Felix who hasn't responded or shown face to this matter. This was the more decent, safest of the parks. It is out in the open , small and plenty of families would come here, now it's turning into the same wreck as some...

I live in Manhattan and love exploring the boroughs. Poe Park was a highly pleasant surprise. Initially, I was just excited to see the residence of Edgar Allen Poe, but I was quickly welcomed in to the lovely community center. Although I arrived late, I was allowed to join a free bottle painting session where I met and made friends with local seniors. There are also activities for kids and a public restroom. Highly recommend !

If you like history and/or American Literature and/or poetry, it's pretty cool to see the house where Edgar Allen Poe lived, and by extension how the Bronx must have looked in the 1800s. They were doing renovations when we were there in June 2021, so we didn't get to go into the little museum or get close to the house. There's also a playground nearby for kids!

A very small park past Fordham Road on Grand Concourse. It has a kool playground but no swings. This park has seating area and a public restroom as well as an office. I have brought donations to this location before.
