I visited this restaurant once for take out. After this i have repeatedly ordered delivery from here.
I love the food from here. My family and i have tried the following items from there:
Crispy spring rolls Brisket with bone marrow banh mi Hot wing rice bowl Fresh lemon lime soda Braised beef stew bo kho Steak banh mi Combination noodle salad bowl Grilled steak rice bowl
All of these items are absolutely amazing. I love the food from here. It's consistent in terms of quantity, quality and taste. I love it.
The crispy spring rolls are my favorite item. They are fried with a nice crunch to them. Its served with an amazing fish sauce. With mint and also lettuce. I usually combine them all into a wrap and dip it into the sauce. It's really delicious and i highly recommend it.
The bahn mi sandwiches are really good here as well. The braised beef one actually has stands of shredded beef. Its super tender and delicious. You can see the pieces of the bone marrow. The grilled steak is also good as well. The braised beef is my fav though. All sandwiches come with jalapeños, Cilantro and pickled carrots. The bread is perfect. Its strong enough to hold up all of those juices and favors from the sandwich. I also usually get mines topped with a fried egg.
My husband and daughter love the rice bowls. They have ordered the hot wings and grilled beef bowls. The hot wings i have personally tasted. They are not spicy. They are soooo crispy and have a great taste.
The braised beef stew had a great flavor. Its a real hearty soup and had chunks and shreads of beef. Amazing. The broth was flavorful as well. It came delivered with the noodles separated from the broth. I was about to eat the broth up and added the noodles to the soup. It ended up softening up. It was okay but i am sure that at the restaurant it can be amazing. I feel like once you reheat the noodles its not the same.
I have tried the lemon lime soda. It is delicious. My kid also loves it.
I definitely recommend this restaurant. It will continue to be a regular in...
Read moreI had the opportunity to try the food from Com Tam Ninh Kieu via Uber Eats. I rarely eat Vietnamese food, but I was eager to have something from this eatery since delivery was available. However, my experience was not on par with he reviews that originally drew me to order from this establishment. I ordered a chicken and beef pho that was slightly more expensive compared to Ramin, which people are more usually more familiar with. Be that as it may, when the order arived, the soup was deconstructed, as delivered soup usually comes. The broth was in one container, vegetables in a bag, and noodles and protein in another. When taking out the cooked beef, I noticed that it was packed with raw beef. Or rather cooked meat with uncooked meat, which is by all health standards, unsanitary. If I was at the restaurant, I would have talked to a manager promptly, so I decided to call the restaurant. I spoke with a person from the restaurant, later learning that he was the manager about the matter at hand. He seemed rushed, telling me very rudely: "thank you for bringing this to my attention, and this will be changed in the future." After saying this he immediately hung up the phone. I called again. Since I had not touched the food I asked for a refund. He told me to ask Uber for and that any complaints should be made to Uber, not the restaurant. I did just that, Uber apologize over the phone once I presented them with pictures (shown below). Uber later refunded me for the beef pho.
I understand that this review is not similar to the others that prays that the restaurant for their authentic flavor an overall good service. However, I'm giving this establishment the benefit of the doubt that I was given an outlier experience that was disappointing. I do wish to try this restaurant again and see if my experience changes. For now my review, it will stand, for now. I hope this establishment takes the time to better review the quality of their food and the manner in which they deal...
Read moreThe Pho was tasty, but that's about all that went right at Com Tam Ninh Kieu.
First, when we came in, the waitress told us to sit at any open table. Then as soon as we got settled she moved us to the other side of the room.
After looking at the menu we decided to order a larger pho $8.50, a normal pho $7.50, and pork rolls $6.00. Total $22, not bad.
When putting in our order the waitress kept trying to upgrade our choices. Me "We'll have the pork rolls too." Waitress "You want shrimp rolls?" M "No thanks, just the pork rolls" W "Shrimp rolls are much better, you sure you want pork?" M "The pork rolls."
Then when we said we wanted water, she suggested tea, we said "no, water", she suggested some other drink, "no, thanks, water".
Then our food came before our appetizer and our water came out as some brown liquid, which we sent back for water.
The rest of the meal was uneventful, until the check came back for $23, a dollar over. I got up to ask our waitress for a menu (to check the prices), she immediately started explaining the extra dollar which I had never asked about, I had only asked for a menu.
She explained it was the charge for containers since we took leftovers to go, but the bill simply said 2 x $8.50, 1 x $6 instead of what we ordered 1 x $7.50, 1 x $8.50, 1 x $6.00, and their crazy fee of $1.00.
The incessant nature of our waitress to upgrade our orders, send unordered drinks to our table, and the way the fee was hidden, and her immediate defensive attitude towards the incorrect amount that I did not bring up can lead best to the conclusion that this place aggressively tries to rip its customers off.
I announced I was withholding my tip as well as the dollar fee, the waitress shrunk away in shame,...
