Rude employees. Specifically the Jamaican guy that’s bald and the cashier girl with colored hair. They also pick and choose who to be rude and nice to. The guy is miserable and is always upset. He hates his job and probably his life. The thing is the food is good but they make this place unbearable for me and my friends/family. He has gotten my food wrong multiple times and that’s not an issue. He walks off when I’m mid-sentence and is rushing me when I already know my order (even when there is no line). His attitude is an everyday thing. I think about never coming back here again but I love the food and how the service used to be. Especially supporting a small business but I can’t do it without dealing with the headache of dealing with a rude person. The girl is okay. She’s nice sometimes but there are more times she’s just rude and forces a tip. She would also just tell you to click continue and rushes you. So you don’t see there’s an automatic tip that it defaults to. It wouldn’t be a problem for me to tip if she’s not rude most times and the guy who I have watched multiple times intentionally burn the bagel. I’m really fed up and have been letting it slide for too long....
Read moreGet your act together guys. This is not the Bergen of old before the building was re-built. Whole Wheat Everything, Toasted, cream cheese. Open the bag, not whole wheat, not toasted. Two people in the store and can't have simple straightforward communication. Worst off, the person taking my order was distracted with a task, so the cashier asked me what I ordered (I hadn't fully yet) and then she comes back sees me talking with the cashier and is annoyed... I didn't engage her, she engaged me, what am I suppose to do? Ignore her, I said "she's taking my order".
The whole set up is completely bizarre and poorly designed, why do I have to repeat my order anyway? Why isn't there a ticket system like every where else in the food service industry. You can't see the cream cheese selection until after you choose a bagel because they have the salad bar at the beginning of the line... Why? Terrible design choices and smug staff, except the manager, he seems alright but...
Read moreTwo of my friends of color came here to get breakfast. They came into the store when it was fairly empty but a long line formed behind them. After taking their order they waited 17 minutes in the store as every single white customer who came in behind them left with their food before them. When the store emptied out the employees must have realized they'd neglected their food and rushed to make it (bagels came out cold and hard and $4 each (for reference you can get a bagel with cream cheese for $1.50 at most delis and carts) and said nothing no apology or acknowledgement of any issue. It's one thing to forget but another thing to notice someone's consistent presence in your store, realize your mistake, and then brush them off without heating up the food they ordered hot, and without acknowledging their time and money that was...
