Ugu Kissa 五谷喫茶 — Restaurant in New York

I've been here 5 times and like this place but price keeps on changing everytime. The first time I came here the "Surprise Me" was $24 or $25. I came back with my co-workers the same week and it changed to $30 but if u ordered online it was $28. 10 days later my friends wanted to go and it was $40. The service is decent since we usually go for early dinner but please make up your mind about your prices. It can be a big turn off to people which was clearly reviewed on yelp. Their sushi is decent and presentation is simple and nice. You can't compare their sushi grade to high end Manhattan famous establishment which other reviewers are doing. There was some real highlights, with one noticeable disappointment. Let me start with the good: bang bang, the bomb, very fresh sashimi and sushi sets, and unagi don (generous portion). The ok: hamachichilly - fish was fresh but flavor was muddled and didn't come through with everything going on in the dish. Was quite forgettable. The bad: Sake ikura don. The food is great, but the staff is not super friendly and the music is trash and super loud. We had to tell then to turn down the bass as they were playing loud electronic music over lunch. The interior is also very very strange. Not sure if I’m on a ship, in a barn or in a suburban home belonging to someone with poor taste.
