I've been shopping here for many years with my wife and the amount of times that i've been disappointed is the exact amount of times that I have not been disappointed. And that's not a good thing. For example, today I went and bought the six pack of baby cucumbers, which was so soft.It felt like baked eggplant. I bought a loaf of bread sealed, which says august thirteenth as the expiration date today is only july twenty fifth, so explain to me why the whole loaf of bread is completely stale. Half the time, the food in the freezer is so freezer burnt. Because the doors are left, open, or maybe it's just bad freezers. I'm not sure, but that goes in the garbage too. I've tried my best to not leave a negative review. Because this is a local shop, but knowing that they are a local shop, they should take care of their community.More and have better quality items.Because the fact of the matter is, this place is not cheap. So for me to spend half decent money on groceries that immediately go on the garbage, I feel an honest review is deserved after many years of at least half the time being disappointed. It's unfortunate that such a local neighborhood store, it doesn't understand what's going on? Or maybe no one's telling them, but if they read this review, maybe it will help. My wife and I agree, we will not be shopping there anymore. It's too many times we had to throw groceries away, which is money, and no oneThese days can afford to...
Read more28 y/o Bay Ridge born and raised. Been coming here since I was a kid and this place has always seemed lack luster. I come every once in a while when I need something quick as it's a few blocks away from my home but it feels out dated and run down. For one of the last Italian supermarkets in the area it doesn't do much to support the heritage it's apart of. I wish they would remodel and get truly quality Italian products that would compliment Fiaccos and Mama Rao's/Pasta fresca at providing 11th ave with a truly authentic old Brooklyn Italian experience. Since I've been a child I dont think much remodeling has been done at all besides new digital signs on th windows advertising sales. This place could be a gold mine that rivals a place like La Bella supermarket on 77/13th Ave. I actually try to avoid going here because it's so run down and doesn't have an extensive list of quality product. Unless it's something simple, i sometimes have to go elsewhere to make a full ingredients purchase which is why I'll usually opt to go elsewhere beforehand. I really hope that management reads this and does something to spruce this local staple up and create a new quality spot to shot in Dyker Heights as it should be. Sending love Scaturros, I hope you guys can keep striving to make the buissness better and more...
Read moreThis store is overpriced and never has what you need. Staff is almost non-existent unless they are blocking the aisles with stocking items that should have been done over night or early mornings, not during busy working hours. Staff does not care that they block aisles, you are just expected to go around them or trip over them while they give you dirty looks. Forget about asking for help. No one could help me find fine sea salt. They all sat there looking lost at the request. What kind of super market doesn't even have fine sea salt or regular iodized salt for that matter? They should be closed down. Horrible service and low quality products. My veggies and meat go bad so quickly so don't come here expecting to find fresh meat and vegetables. It will most likely be rotten the next day when you go to use it. There are plenty of other super markets to go to. Do yourself a favor and skip this one. Over priced and...
