After reading reviews for this hotel that it was clean, I decided to take a chance and book my stay here to work at the nearby hospital in the Bronx for 2 days (I'm a practitioner). After arriving 11:30pm, post a 3-hr flight delay, there were a bevy of people in the very small “lobby” of the hotel. Not sure what was going on but there were about 10-15 people. The front desk gentleman looked very overwhelmed by the noise and the constant inquiries from the other patrons. I stood in line to check in. The front desk is separated from the lobby by plexiglass and a sad speaker (I could not hear anything he said for the life of me, it was not working well). I’ve never seen that before in a hotel. The gentleman took my card and scanned my license (?) for what I presumed was incidentals and then handed me back a paper with the full stay charge. I was so confused, but I was exhausted and figured I would talk to them the next day.
Exhausted, I entered the room (on the 1st floor) at 12am. Got dressed for sleep, as I had to report to the hospital at 6am the next day and went into the bathroom only to find that the toilet had marks and bits of toilet paper and it flushed really slowly, there were grey marks on the pillow, someone was running around all night on the floor above me so there was lots of lovely stomping, and the patrons in "lobby" were hanging out (loudly) until about 2-3am. I attempted to sleep and left for work around 5:30am and decided that I would come back after my shift to discuss the issues with the front.
I came back at 5pm, packed up my things to check out early and stay somewhere that would ACTUALLY be clean and comfortable and went to the front desk to discuss these things. I was asked why I did not come back to the front to discuss these issues in the moment (mind you, at 12:30am) when clearly the gentleman at the front desk at the time seemed to have little control of anything. I informed her that I am a doctor, and I needed to sleep to proficiently work so I am telling her these issues now. She stated that I had paid the full 3 nights up front ($825.70) and there was nothing she could do about that. Since there was nothing, she could do about that, I informed her I would reach out to corporate Wyndham/Ramada. She said I could stay in a different room (?) and that my complaints were strange because my room was “deep cleaned”. I declined and was moving to a different hotel. As I was about to walk out the door she asked for my name, email, and number so someone could reach out to me. I provided the information and walked out.
What I have learned from this terrible stay was that clearly on these reviews, people have very subjective definitions of “clean” and expectations of hotels. I am sorry I expected my pillows not to have grey marks, the toilets to work properly, and to be able to sleep for even 3-4 hrs. I’m also sorry that I did not to bring this all up with the clearly overwhelmed front desk gentleman in the middle of the night (per the front desk lady I spoke to inquiring why I didn’t). I will never stay at a Ramada or any Wyndham hotel again in my life. Save yourself the trouble and pay the extra $ to stay somewhere else for...
Read moreI passed by this hotel on my way home from New York. It was 11 o'clock at night. I didn't want to drive home at night and felt that the Ramada brand was better, so I booked a business king-size bed room on Ctrip. Ctrip information stated that the bed size should not be less than 1.8m, which is ten meters. I checked in at around 1:10. When I got to the room, I found that it was in a ba*t with no windows and a damp smell. The most important thing was that there was only a small bed of 1.5 meters (seriously inconsistent with the reservation information). We were a couple and couldn't squeeze in. After stopping in the room for a minute, I went back to the front desk and asked the staff if there was a double bed. The staff said yes, but it would cost extra (we booked more than 3,100 yuan a night). I felt that the room was not consistent with the reservation. It was a double bed room. Now that I was asked to add money, I decided not to stay. I handed my room card to the front desk and checked out on the Ctrip platform. It took less than 20 minutes from checking in to leaving the hotel (including waiting time in line). We didn’t touch anything in the room. Ctrip customer service responded and said that the hotel did not agree to refund and the attitude of the hotel staff was very bad. When we decided not to stay, the staff’s face was already livid. I felt incredible that it was provided by the hotel. We didn't stay because the room was seriously inconsistent with the reservation information. According to relevant legal regulations, even if they were consistent, if we were not satisfied when we entered the room and checked out immediately without using the room, we would have to get a refund. At present, Ctrip customer service is still coordinating. The hotel insisted that it provided us with a large bed that met the reservation requirements. Later, it told Ctrip customer service that it would take us to see another room. Since the room given to us met the requirements, why did it take us again? Looking at other rooms? Is not this contradictory? No refunds have been made so far! I suggest that everyone pay attention to this hotel in the future. The management of the Ramada brand is really disappointing! At the same time, I warned the hotel that if I do not refund the fee, I will take legal action to protect my...
Read moreThis hotel has roaches. They changed our room 3 times and we were still unhappy. The first room had a roach running across the counter when we first walked into the room. We informed the man at the front desk of the problem and he seemed surprised. He stated "this is his first time ever hearing of such a thing." He changed our room to another room. This room had make-up all over the pillows. We complained about this and they changed the linen. The bedspread also had cigarettes burns in the comforter. I made by this time because we had a long day. We checked in our hotel around midnight and was looking forward to resting our body. I requested for our money back but the man at the front desk said he could not give us our money back he can only accommodate us with another room. He could of at least offered us a discount. Providing us with a different room was not good enough if we were not comfortable with the cleanliness of this hotel. The room that they changed us to did not have a working TV in it. It took 2 employees to try to fix it and then the manager came to help out. We expressed our concerns with the manager about the problems we had in - not even 24 hours. He offered to upgrade our room to a room with a Jacuzzi. He stated he was going to personally checked the room out and make sure everything was working and everything was all good when we went to this room. According to him we were going to "love this room." We received a called stating that the room was ready. To our surprise the Jacuzzi was not working, there was hair over the bathroom wall in the tub, there was no iron or ironing board, no trash can in the bathroom or bedroom, and no chair. This reinforced that they do a half job with cleaning and paying attention to details. We went downstairs the next morning where they serve continental breakfast to warm up our food we bought the night before and saw a roach by the microwave. We were so disgusted. I still want my money back to this day. We were soooooo uncomfortable our whole time there. I am still bothered by this situation because we paid $307.00 for 2 nights for a place that we could not enjoy. I asked for my money back but they person at the front desk said they can only give us my money back if they were not able to...
