Jimmy Best Chinese — Restaurant in New York

I've been ordering food from Jimmy's for many years with no complaints... Other than the overabundance of onions in the food..... But last night, Sat. April 20th, 2024, the food was so bad I tossed it in the trash! Wanted to include photos which I took last night, unfortunately my lack of savviness with cell phones, leaves me unable to do so, so you'll just have to take my word. The shrimp fried rice was overcooked and mushy, egg foo young had waaay more onions than usual, shrimps in the rice weren't cleaned, chicken was burnt to a crisp, and gravy what's an as thick as usual (borderline watery). Whoever the cook was on this particular night needs to be fired! Would there be this much disregard in the preparation of the food if this restaurant were located in a more affluent neighborhood? I doubt...

First I have to say I have been eating in Jimmy’s best Chinese since I was 5 years old and my family has gone here for a very long time. This is hands down the best Chinese ever I don’t eat Chinese food anywhere else. Not only is Jimmy himself kind and generous so is his staff. His catchphrase best Chinese is a classic !! Seriously I swear this is my favorite place ever I trust them blindly trying new items. I recommend this to all my friends and they love this food!! My personal favorite is Shrimp with garlic sauce comes with white rice & chicken wings and French fries. When ordering on Uber eats or DoorDash they follow all the notes and instructions. This place reminds me of Fallujah. Like Fallujah in 2009. It’s an actual warzone. If the “B,” on the window doesn’t scare you off, or the rats scouring the bombed out parking lot for scraps, or the empty liquor bottles you have to trek through to make it to the actual store, the cardboard taped to the partially collapsed window panels might do it. Wear Kevlar when you get your egg rolls, people. This place should be condemned. Killer chicken though. 5 stars. Also the dude picks up the phone with the funniest line I’ve ever heard in my life....
