I took a group of 4 for my birthday. We were running late and they were very accommodating. They adjusted the appointment by an hour. I appreciated that. We had 2 coupleās deep tissue with hot stones that I purchased from Groupon. For my husband, it was too āsoftā for a deep tissue massage. He had a female masseuse and I had a male. I enjoyed the lower body portion and had mixed feelings about the upper body.Q What I didnāt enjoy was that I could hear the chatter outside the room from the waiting area and/or other rooms which overpowered the calming background music. I would have preferred more quiet. My other guests were neutral. It wasnāt a wow experience nor was it awful.
Hereās the part I earnestly dislike about these institutionsā¦.the hidden fees. When I arrived I was told I had to pay $25 tax on my already purchased Groupon. I paid that before we were escorted to the rooms. When I came out I was told there is a $10 per person minimum ātipā. I asked where in the contract that was. When these services are posted on Groupon all additional fees should be made clear upfront. I hate being ambushed with arbitrary fees. They had an opportunity to let me know what my fees would be when I arrived and let me decide how I wanted to proceed. Not wait until Iām leaving. I think itās deceptive and distasteful and negates any positive effect I would have had from the mediocre massage. The purpose of Groupon is to introduce new clients to your services at a reduced price so you have the opportunity to wow them and turn them into loyal full paying customers because youāve demonstrated without a doubt that you can deliverā¦not to extort them. And thatās how I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBrought Wife #3 to Spring Breeze Spa in Flushing to make up for forgetting her Qurāan graduation brunch.
The tension was real. She walked in with silent treatment energy, only breaking it to whisper āHaram couples massage, huh?ā as we got assigned separate rooms.
I get assigned to a masseuse named Jenny, who starts the massage by saying, āYou have too much tension. Wife stress?ā I fake-laughed and said, āAlhamdulillah, Iām working on it.ā
But this woman⦠subįø„ÄnAllÄh. She worked my back like she was trying to release a decade of guilt. At one point she whispered, āMen like you deserve peace.ā
By minute 38, I was mentally planning the mahr.
I step out of the room looking like Iāve been spiritually reset. Wife #3 takes one look at me and says: āWhy are your cheeks glowing? Who massaged you?ā
Before I can answer, Jenny walks by and says, āSee you soon, husband!ā Wallahi. I cough so hard I almost break wudhu.
Wife #3ās eyebrows rise so fast they need FAA clearance. āExcuse me? Husband?!ā I scramble: āShe means like⦠spiritually. Like a⦠Chinese proverb. Inner husband. You know. Yin and Yang and Nikah.ā
She narrows her eyes like sheās about to call her mom.
At that exact moment, the spa ownerāthis sweet aunty in orthopedic slippersāappears and claps loudly: āAhem! You both qualify for our Couples Loyalty Discount! Please go. Now. Together.ā
We leave in silence. On the way home she mutters, āNext time I pick the massage therapist. And if I see her again, Iāll need ghusl from rage.ā
Spring Breeze Spa? Five stars. Relaxation, repentance, and recruitment all...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreš¦came here for the second time because my partner bought me a gift from Groupon: they were very unorganized this time, weren't sure, I had to wait, and the message was great. But whoever was in the room next to me was so loud and talkative that I didn't have a relaxing experience. š¦also I gave the lady a tip that I found fair in the end based on my experience. She counts the money in front of me .... and The front desk person said there's a minimum of $15 tip......TIP "Tipping is generally considered a voluntary act, and many people choose to adjust the amount based on their experience." š¦also he said I have to pay the tax for the Groupon that my partner paid for.... ridiculous experience... what a horrendous conclusion.... and this is spa.... nonsense
Previous review: Beautiful atmosphere and ambience. Place is new and itās spacious and clean. Thereās No wait, and the owner was very welcoming. Loved the plants on site and all the artwork and the logo of this place. š¦ it was cold, and they brought a portable heater for me, truly appreciate that. š¦ did a couple messages here. My message therapist was good, but I felt like it was a bit rough. When the message ended. They just turned the lights on so rapidly and totally rushed us out. That part was a bit a slap on a face moment. Didnāt appreciate that at all . š¦ my partner didnāt really enjoy his message, his message therapist was way too soft on him and he felt like he was just rubbed and not really messaged. š¦ they offer water in the end, and wait for tip, just straight to the point. ..
